Right after seeing "Dr. Death" I need spinal surgery

Yeah, my golf game went all to hell a couple years ago due to me not keeping that up, but bounced back after getting back in shape. Starting to head downhill late this summer, so I need to get back at it over the winter.

My favorite part is the things I listed take about 5-10 minutes.

Having some issues again so going in a couple of weeks to see what I can do. Good to just get a check up anyway. Guy I go to is very good at diagnosing and keeping it simple.

You guys are just swell

Some of us are. ;)

Enjoy the humor, dismiss the lower back advice as not really relevant and look at posts #7 and #16 as those guys have some seemingly relevant personal experiences. Sort of answers the "Why would you ask something medical on CF?", cause you can reach a bunch o peeps and maybe find others that have experienced something similar so your don't fell like the Lone Ranger in dealing with things.

How long ago did you blow the disc causing the nerve issue? It's best if you can go in and right away if it's causing any loss of feeling. Though I waited and never did surgery (c5-c6). I had a lot of pain for 2-3 months, which then got better but had no strength on my right side and my pectoral muscle was lopsided even from it (you could really notice it when I had my shirt off). What helped me the most was taking a couple of rounds of prednisone to shrink the disc off the nerve (though I hated prednisone because I would get angry, emotional and couldn't sleep!). Each time I took it more strength would come back ( I kept lifting, but only did any kind of pec work with loaded plate machines where I could do one side at a time). My neck/back still hurt once in awhile when I've used it a lot, but all my body seems to hurt these days anyway (just turned 50)!

Brilliant move on your part...coming to CF for medical advice. ;)
Haha, not really looking for "advice" so much as people sharing experiences.
Had a C5-C7 fusion surgery in 2011 for a compression fracture. Felt much better after the surgery but my surgeon broke a screw which catches at times and gives me some discomfort. All in all I was happy with the results. Can feel my hands again
That is my main symptom. I have random numbness and "pins & needles" in my right arm and hand. Annoying AF.

Not too long ago. Within last 6-8 weeks and went to doctor right away because a couple months ago I had a friend drop dead who had similar symptoms. He had a previously undiagnosed heart problem. Prednisone did absolutely nothing for me. I just turned 50 last month as well.

Prednisone can also have some serious long term effects so should be avoided as something to rely on.
