I was noticing Prospects Nations updated recruiting rankings for 2016. I'm aware that they don't know everything and so many players especially in WB often fly completely under their radar. But it was disappointing not to see ISU in the top 50.

KST # 41
OKST #39
TT # 30
OU # 16
TCU # 8
BU # 6
TX # 2

I would love to see ISU recruiting with the rest of the league. Must admit though that BF in the past has done rather well with what he has. I would rank him as top 5 in coaches that do more with less. Just can't help but wish that his staff could pull in some of the bigger games changers from time to time.

Both of ISU 2016 recruits are international players which get very little coverage by the recruiting services so it is not surprise that ISU class is not ranked at all.

Yeah. ISU got a great start on 2017, but didn't land any of the main 2016 targets. Considering how well recruiting has gone recently, it doesn't really concern me much.

agree. think the depth and quality of 2013, 2014 and 2015 recruiting affected 2016 efforts. Very few 2016's would be good enough as frosh to get much playing time over them. Didn't really have any offers out there to middle-rung players for 2016, that we have seen in the past just for depth, so, curious to see how good the Internationals are.

Kinda late committing internationals that nobody knows anything about. With Carleton we had like two years to catch her in international games that were streamed. The new 2016's, not really anything to go on other than "trust in the staff".

The 2017's committed so early we are having like forever to follow them in Minnesota.

Not worried at all. If you really want to see how ISU compares to other comparable programs, look at 3 to 4 year recruiting cycles. It will be a much better indicator than just a single year. As others have said, I have little concern, due to great success in past 3 years and early indications of 17. If even one of the 16's works out, we are in very good shape

Not to mention our transfer. People don't seem to be overly excited for some reason, but she was a starter since frosh year for Vanderbilt and highly recruited out of high school, was SEC All-Freshman team....

I do not think that the international recruits were last minute, I think they have been committed for a while, we may have just not publicized them so that others did not get involved.

I think the one-and-done nature tempers the enthusiasm. I do expect her to make a nice impact in the 16-17 season, but after that she's done.

I think the other thing about the transfer is staff wants someone in practice who has a lot of experience and can be a good mentor/teacher to our young posts this spring, off season, and pre-season next year.
