Recruit Lists v2.0

Royce had legal troubles - still does I guess in another regard yet he was a great Cyclone - so I wouldn't shy away from any player with Fred at the helm. Quick edit - I don't know about the troubles so I reserve judgment. I don't think we take just anyone.

It's ok. Think I might have him confused with another player

I'm still interested in where this scholarship would come from. It seems unlikely at this point that anyone is going to transfer for us. The past two seasons all of the players have announced they were transferring 4-6 days after the season ended. It's been 8 days since our last game. I guess there is still time for it to be announced. And I'm sure it's still possible that one of our Juco players won't make it to campus.

Nallen and others - you guys know more about this stuff than I care to follow but what is the draw to Cosby - can he play right away? Shoot like crazy?

When was the last time this program didn't have any attrition? It happens to mostly every program every year. The scholarship will come from somewhere, it always does.

I expect(ed) we'd lose a guard or two, and I thought it might be possible Percy would decide to leave as he just seems to drift away each year come Big 12 season. Hard to say though, because I think Percy has tons of potential to be a good big man for us these next 2 years. But I was thinking Okoro maybe, because I know he had to leave the team for a few weeks in February to be with family if I remember correctly. And he is from NY, which is where last years transfer, Tavon Sledge, was from. My other guess was Aaron Law or Cameron Fowler, or both, since they are being recruited over.

Man I love what Fred is doing. 5 scorers on the floor at all times (at least working to that end). Ask Indiana how it works out when 2-3 guys can't score on the floor at any given time. Fred knows his ****. NBA this and that. You can't play in the NBA unless you can score effectively, minus a few guys. He's changing college basketball. And look, I'm 43 and don't get too much into hyperbole but Fred is really at the forefront right now.

law and fowler are both walk-ons wouldn't change the scholarship picture if they left

OK, this I was not aware of. Thought Fowler was scholarship from last year, and Law being from North Carolina I am surprised to hear of a walk on playing so far from home. Thought most walk-ons were Iowa boys.

It's been a while. But when's the last time that this program was in this good of shape? Or when was the last time that we graduated 5 seniors and had this much opportunity to come in and replace what we lost?

Cosby will have to sit out in the 2013-14 and will be able to play in the 2014-15 season as a RS Jr. He averaged 12.6 ppg and 3.0 apg in the 2012-13 season at Seton Hall.

This along with the NC State transfer are no brainers. When talent like that becomes available, you have to persue it and let the chips fall where they may. Let Fred figure out where the scholly comes from.

[h=1]Rashad Vaughn to Trim List Soon [/h]"Rashad Vaughn is close to trimming his list to seven or eight schools, he told SNY.tv Monday night. “I haven’t sat down with my family yet but I’m looking to cut it down in the near future, probably like eight or seven,” the 6-foot-5 2014 guard from Robbinsdale Cooper (MN) said by phone.
Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Iowa State, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, Maryland, Baylor, Tennessee and Georgetown are among the schools recruiting Vaughn hard."

Vaughn said he has no timetable on a commitment.
“I don’t know but sometime in my senior year,” he said. “Whenever it feels right.”

So Vaughn changed his twitter avatar to a lion. This brings up conversation between him and #Landoflions. Now Royce is telling him he should join ISU. Not sure if Royce recruiting for us right now is good or bad, but props to him for being forever a cyclone. Oh, and his trimmed list still has like 10 teams on it. Don't blame him, got to weigh the options, but I wouldn't expect to hear anything concrete on him till fall.
