I've never had a problem with the 2 sets of Kumhos Ive had on 2 different vehicles. Save the money and go with the Kumhos
I can't speak to Kumho truck tires but there was nothing close in cost to the Kumhos that I bought that got as high of a rating on Tire Rack. The only other tire I was looking at was Pirelli P Zero Neros which are also an all season high performance tire. The did slightly better on the performance tests but they cost twice as much at the Kumhos. I went with the Kumho Ecsta ASX instead.
Kumhos rock. Just as good as the other names but in this case you are just buying the tire, not the name stamped in the sidewall.
Whatever you do, don't get Goodyear Eagle RS-A's. They came as OE on my car and my Dads and they are horrible in anything that resembles snow/ice/slush. Handle pretty well in the dry and the treadwear is ok, but even in wet conditions they aren't great.
They were on the used car I bought so I replaced with with new RS-As. They were fine in the summer but they were useless this winter on snow and ice. The anti-lock brakes can't do anything with those tires on. I can't wait to get rid of them.
To ask this question you really need to say what car it's for, what you drive like, and budget.
I had a set of tires on my V that should only last 10,000 miles. It's not that they are bad tires. They are soft and sticky tires.
When my wife drove a 4x4 SUV I got her good all season tires. Now that she drives a 400hp SUV I get her summer and winter tires and change them out with the seasons.

My car came with American Eagle tires and I put some more on because of the price this past year....HUGE MISTAKE!!!! DO NOT BUY AMERICAN EAGLE TIRES....death traps on rain, snow, sleet...next fall I'll spend some $ and find some good tires. Also, a month after I bought them I had a tire go bad from the inside out. The tire had all kinds of lumps on it, luckily I caught it before I headed down the interstate one afternoon.
If you want to go cheap
I bought a pair of CYCLONE tires (no joke) for my truck and they are good they are made by Cooper and come with white letters its pretty cool they are named Cyclone tires

I just went to Tire Rack and checked the reviews for Kuhmo tires for my sable....really good reviews...I'm thinking I might just switch sooner than later.
Last fall when I got the Eagles, I was going to work one morning up I-35 in light rain. The car was hydro-planing like nothing I had ever felt before. This winter was a joke. I checked the reviews for the Eagles...ouch!!!!
I will say though for our Explorer, our Wranglers have been top notch and the tread life is outstanding.

That tire has a sweet tread pattern. Isn't this the tire, or at least tread pattern, that the state troopers have on their vehicles. I didn't read the description but I bet those tires are sweet on wet surfaces.............Ummm, Maybe I'd better re-phrase that...
I'll bet you you can't hydro-plane with those tires and they are good in rainy conditions. That sounded much better.....
