My niece's new BF shares the same name as her dog. Is it ok that I text her asking if they're spelled the same?

Ask her if Fido likes the bone, and see if she replies talking about a dog or her BF.
For some reason, that reminds me of the time I went to a work-related function with my better half who immediately asked in a loud voice as we went into the room filled with my colleagues, "Okay, which one is Sh*thead?"
