Fox owns what, 80% of the B12’s deal? If they’re pressuring the B10 to not schedule them, the same applies to the B12.If the SEC and B10 don’t want to play ball with ND road scheduling (and I doubt that happens extensively), the B12 gladly will.

It’s more like 50%-60% and if Fox tells BY to not schedule ND, he can tell Fox to eff themselves unlike Pettiti, the Fox puppet.Fox owns what, 80% of the B12’s deal? If they’re pressuring the B10 to not schedule them, the same applies to the B12.
who is going to have available spots? everyone has their schedules made for noncons for years to come.If the SEC and B10 don’t want to play ball with ND road scheduling (and I doubt that happens extensively), the B12 gladly will.
What would be the monetary benefits of scheduling ND? Would it affect the contracts and payout? If no, then hard pass.I

If ISU or any other B12 school was asked to move future G5 games to another year to accommodate a home and home with ND, they all would do it.who is going to have available spots? everyone has their schedules made for noncons for years to come.
its easy to say everyone will, but it is not that easy. unless they make a scheduling agreement to take place of one conf game or similar, similar to the ACC.
Can ND make it work, maybe, but it is not going to be as easy as you say. A decade ago everyone played more noncon games, and before that even more. Now with 9 game conf schedules and restrictions on number of games etc. There are a LOT less noncon game slots. And the future appears to be going in the direction of even less noncon games not more.
If future ND games are scheduled at B12 venues beyond 2030, that would obviously have a positive impact on negotiations of a new TV deal. What would be the monetary benefits of scheduling ND? Would it affect the contracts and payout? If no, then hard pass.

Curious, if it’s known, what did the scheduling agreement add to the ACC media deal? If it’s not a significant increase, it’s not worth it.If future ND games are scheduled at B12 venues beyond 2030, that would obviously have a positive impact on negotiations of a new TV deal.
I don't know specific contract language of existing Big10, Big12 & SEC TV deals related to additional realignment. But I would expect existing partners have first rights to televise the best games. And if ACC implodes, ESPN will have those time slots to fill on ABC and ESPN. So unless Amazon or Apple wants the 7th best Big 12 game each week, I just don't see ESPN or FOX letting go of top games. If Amazon is given a chance to legitimately bid on P4 inventory, they will bid higher than anyone else and now given House implications, P4 conferences will award high volume packages to them as long as their top GOTW is on OTA. Obviously, Fox has the B10 by the balls and ESPN does likewise with the SEC so those two will be off limits to Amazon for the foreseeable future.
And now that WBD matched Amazon’s NBA offer, they have money to burn on extra B12 inventory if the ACC implodes.
As stated before, both ESPN and Fox will dictate/facilitate SEC, B10 and B12 scheduling to accommodate highly ranked ND road games even if in October and November (if the ACC implodes).
I don't know the details of the contracts, but this argument ignores ESPN and Fox as 'resellers' of content. If Amazon is given a chance to legitimately bid on P4 inventory, they will bid higher than anyone else and now given House implications, P4 conferences will award high volume packages to them as long as their top GOTW is on OTA. ... the ACC has been largely insulated from the immediate impacts of many of those changes. ... But the unpredictable permutations coming to college sports won't leave the ACC alone for much longer.
One of the defining images of the 2023 college football season came during the College Football Playoff Selection show. Following the revelation of the four-team field, ESPN cameras cut to the Florida State football facilities in Tallahassee, Fla. ...... Head coach Mike Norvell, front and center, didn’t move when the players around him threw their heads back in anger, screamed in anguish and wrestled with the reality of their new No. 5 ranking — the first team left out of the bracket.
“It’s unfathomable that Florida State, an undefeated Power Five conference champion, was left out of the College Football Playoff,” ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips said. ...
... In the 10 years the four-team playoff was played, 15 teams have gone undefeated and won a Power Five conference championship, and only one has ever been excluded—2023 Florida State. ...
No, no they wouldnt. Why dont we play 2 p4 teams now if everyone wanted to?If ISU or any other B12 school was asked to move future G5 games to another year to accommodate a home and home with ND, they all would do it.
You completely missed the point. This is for ND only, not other teams. They are different and as I suggested, the vast majority of P3 schools (if the ACC implodes) will accommodate an extra non con P3 game if its ND.No, no they wouldnt. Why dont we play 2 p4 teams now if everyone wanted to?
We have every opportunity to schedule other P4 teams outside Iowa and drop the G5 or FCS team, but we never do, why? Because we want those tune up games and because bowls and championships are about wins, not strength of schedule, beyond the 10 P4 games already played. SOS means nothing if you lose, you still have to get the wins.
None of us know if ISU has every had the opportunity to play ND in the regular season, no one is saying that Jami should schedule 11 P4 teams every season, but there is nothing wrong with doing it every now and then if one of those teams is the Irish. It would be worth losing the game to increase the visibility of the program. No, no they wouldnt. Why dont we play 2 p4 teams now if everyone wanted to?

ACC Football Kickoff 2024: Realignment anxieties underscore awkward week ahead for Pitt
Seismic changes have shaken the college sports landscape to its core over the past four years, and as of this moment, the ACC has been largely insulated...www.post-gazette.com
I would assume they are referencing adding BYU, Houston Cincinnati, and Central Florida last year when saying we added 'in droves'. Hard to argue with them when half of the members of this conference will have been members for less than two years next week. The league is not headed for imminent collapse like the Pac-12 was at this time a year ago. It hasn’t onboarded athletic departments in droves like the Big 12, either. And its status as a “power conference” hasn’t been dissolved yet. But the unpredictable permutations coming to college sports won't leave the ACC alone for much longer.
So adding four is a drove, but adding 3 lesser teams is not. If the ACC had the opportunity to have a do over and could take Arizona, ASU, Utah or Colorado instead of SMU, Stanford, and Cal, they would to have never chose the last three.
Increase the visibility of the program? It’s 2024 not 1995. Every program is on national tv almost every week.None of us know if ISU has every had the opportunity to play ND in the regular season, no one is saying that Jami should schedule 11 P4 teams every season, but there is nothing wrong with doing it every now and then if one of those teams is the Irish. It would be worth losing the game to increase the visibility of the program.
Can you imagine the excitement this coming season if we knew that after the EIU game we would be playing ND, it would be off the charts. Win or lose playing a team like ND in the non conference portion of the schedule would get ISU noticed and that is what we need.
