This is true the Big XII didn't implode back in 2011 or 2021, so he didn't have to make a phone call. But he was the direct reason for the impending implosion both times.

Funny how his tune changes when he wants to be the good guy in all this.
It won't change either. Right now, there are two conferences the TV people really care about the SEC and B10. The ACC is tied up for another 10 years, so they are kind of the kid locked in the attic no one wants to talk about. Hence, FSU's freak outs. Had the Big 12 not survived OUT, then I fully believe everyone would have been on board with the PAC falling apart anyway. The Media people have their darlings though and that leaves the Big 12 as the scapegoat to lay all the problems and hate on. They don't want to turn public opinion against the B10 and SEC because those are their cash cows now, they've invested too much to call them out on their ********.

It would be amazing to hear at least one person ask him why he didn't give a **** when he actively worked with ESPN against the Big 12 to turn them into a G5 conference to get OUT on the cheap.

Saw this tweet from Dennis Dodd yesterday and nearly gagged, and that was before I learned of Sankey's comments regarding the playoff.

The state of journalism in college football is so, so terrible. We deserve better than what we're getting.

Did Sankey as deputy commissioner of the SEC reach out to UConn when the original Big East collapsed?

What the f*ck does that even mean? I didn’t realize Dodd was that into his deepthroat skills.

Why is the ACC interested in SMU, Cal, and Stanford?
That's insane.

Double insane thinking or not thinking. The best from SMU is minor access to the Texas market and players after Texas, A&M, TCU, Baylor, everyone left from the original Big 12, etc. Cal and Stanford can't find their football and basket ball stadiums, but if it takes place in a swimming pool, exercise mat, or vollyball, (Olympic sports), they are in.

In light of super conference and realignment…here’s this. “We make a lot of money on our thing and we like it”... after living in the SE they are hyper into their team and their conference. Maybe it’s the prevailing model…

Don't even want to read. Skankey, erh, Snakey, can go crap his pants for all we care!

The King reached out to his vanquished and humiliated foes to make sure they were okay after he **** all over them. The benevolent king. Leadership.

Way up there
Mountain West has become the hunter.

They came out of this really good, with the AAC being raided, the mwc would likely be in the driver's seat for whatever g5 spot the playoff might include most years. Id go after whatever PAC schools I could and even the AAC teams that were left after the big 12 raid.

They are bit like the big 12 in that they were raided hard during the last round so they were a more stable bc they only had one school the big boys were seriously sniffing around.

Sankey can whine all he wants, but in the end he kicked off this round of realignment. Sure he has the luxury of the SEC being able to stay regional, although expanding the footprint. But some of his comments today were hypocritical.

Edit: Not to mention Finebaum crying about the Pac dying etc. When he has done nothing but **** on anything non SEC for years.
And mister Fink-baum, oh yes, can't forget him.

"Knowing damn well it would tank the Big12"

It was much worse than that. He colluded with ESPN to shank the Big12 and force those teams to the AAC for $9m per year. It was all a grand master plan and he was the hired killer.

Thank goodness for TAMMY being so mad about it they leaked it early, giving the Big12 time and a chance to survive.
TX A&M will always have a soft spot with me, for this very reason.

A few miscellaneous (and insane thoughts):

Should the B1G be renamed the Canadian Border League?

A few ideas for the new Big 12:
Central Coast Conference
Coast to Coast Conference
Bigger East Conference
National Collegiate Conference
Great Plains Conference
Mountain Coastal Conference
Rocky Waters Conference
We Hate O-UT Conference
Or add 4 more and be the
Big-XX Conference
or Super XX (or 20)
(perhaps still use it if we are 16 today)

Wait for the ACC to cave to Florida State and pick off their best BB schools plus one from Florida to give CF a traveling partner.

Go Clones
Go Chiefs

Not sure if it's been posted yet, but ESPN just entered a 10-year deal with Penn Entertainment to create ESPN Bet - a sports wagering company. ESPN spent $2 billion.

ESPN is actually getting the money, not spending.

College football doesn't have an individual leader, de facto or not.

If anything, ESPN and FOX are the leaders of college football and the conferences are pretty much just their sergeants-at-arms.
When we go to 1 super conference, guess who the commissioner will be? It rhymes with ‘stanky’.
