Nothing, Just be B1G against someone else. Or a Random NY6 draw. Like the Fiesta. My guess if the PAC does completely Die. The Rose will have a new Tie between the B1G and someone else, like the Big 12 or ACC.
Not necessarily. Every move made so far has been strictly about money. Cyhawk has some value as a brand in and of itself. As long as that brand is worth more than a 10th-11th-12th B1G conference game there is no incentive to kill it. And I think we're a ways away from that yet going by television numbers from the last couple of years.
I hope they keep it at least once every 4 or 5 years if the annual game goes away.
Why would they go somewhere to make less money, and to a sinking ship. Everyone loves to say these things about the Big 12, but the Big 12 has always been consistently ahead of the PAC and it just lost its 2 top brands. I dont see that increasing it to gain 2 spots in pecking order to get above the Big 12 at 3rd.
I bet they are a bit more concerned than that. By that I mean in remaining an independent. They can always have a seat in whatever conference they want.
when you get 16-20 teams in your league you almost have to play 10 conference games right?
I would think if you play 10 games, Iowa would go down to 2 cupcakes.
I actually wouldn't putting the game on a rotation so we could play other teams also.
I'm honestly suprised more people don't have them on ignore. Some of the stuff they've posted is horrible.
Taking those two into the Big12 would be a massive bump, add in a couple others in the pac and the game between the P2 and Big12 would shrink a bit
The b1g is in the middle of tv contract negotiations. They’ve got who they want from the PAC. If they wanted others they’d have them.
Realistically, you can switch both around and it makes sense. If Oregon Washington and Stanford go, then I could see the rest going to the Big 12. If not, I could see them going for the Texas market and leaving the midwest teams of the big 12 out as those TV sets are not a huge priority and not big brands. Maybe Kansas has a shot with BBall. I think ISU will land somewhere if this goes past 48 teams. As has been said by others in this thread already.
Then you are blind. Maybe their has not been an official application...whatever that is... but they have made the calls and said they want in. And the B1G has had the calls to decide if they want to let them in. The Official app is just a technicality.
I guarantee every PAC school and Probably a couple Big 12 schools, called yesterday saying they want in and if they can and "official app" would come. Hell Im guessing ACC schools called and said they want in, and to leave the light on for them in 2036...
