Carvers post reminded me...add The Crucible, The Scarlet Letter, The Great Gatsby, and Death of a Salesman to my high school required reading repertoire. I want to say we also read Homer's works, but can't remember what year that was for me.

The Red Badge of Courage, I think, was junior high, as was Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
Forgot about The Scarlet Letter. Jonathan Livingston Seagull was all the rage. Didn't have to read it for school, just read it because.

Since it's so ******* hot, and it's Friday, and I'm kinda thirsty, I thought I'd continue the beer theme. Anybody remember this one?

Those asian ones are definitely phony. I would never fall for them. You should tell him that the Hungarian ones are better and more legit. If he wants a woman from there, let me know and I will ask Jazmin, whom I met through the Hungarian site. She's independently wealthy and will share it with me after I spot her the 10k for the travel money to get here. She doesn't have access to U.S. dollars and the travel company only takes US $. Should be here by end of the year.

Researching popular hungarian names was dissappointing. I was looking for the equivalent of Olga or Hilda, but they all seemed like names here so I had to go with Jazmin.

That's what makes my imaginary French girlfriend, Monique, so special. Totally free since she is made up by me and not the construct of some scamming trolling Russian or Chinese guy.

I do wish she would send me a bottle of wine once in awhile though.

Now that I am highest status for multiple years on Delta, I mainly fly first class because I am fortunate enough to get the free upgrades.

Here are some reasons I can think of:
  • Guaranteed overhead bin space
  • Pre-flight beverage
  • No standing in frozen/hot jetway
  • Ease of boarding process (essentially the cheapest tickets board last but it's not more efficient)
  • Get the boarding process over with. Some people find it very stressful to fly and getting into your seat, you can finally relax and be done with the most stressful part
  • Seat is more comfortable than gate seating (usually) and includes that beverage I mentioned earlier, maybe a snack, in flight entertainment etc
  • And yes there is some of the "I am better than you" attitude and the airlines play into it a ton. Particularly if you're a high status. For example every flight, the head flight attendant hands me a personal handwritten thank you note signed by the crew for being a loyal member. Another example is if I have an extremely tight connection for whatever reason, I will get escorted out of the plane, off the jetway onto the tarmac and put into a car and driven to my plane directly.
Frankly it's hard not to be smug about it when they treat you well and it makes flying not really suck at all. I hate the looks I get and vice versa when I sit up front but you just learn to ignore it.

But since I was in the expenses app I looked how much "I" spent on flights with my job this fiscal year (July2017-June2018) and it was just shy of $90k, holy **** that's disgusting.

That sounds like a lot of air time even in first class.

Can I use this one? Please?

Coastal Carolina won the College World Series two years ago, and they're the Chanticleers. (which is a type of rooster)

Went there last fall to watch the Clones it was a nice Campus. Lunch was really good at there cafeteria. It was easy to go there between games and pretty reasonable.

Didn't read as many of the more "modern" classics because they were probably too heathenish. The ones I do remember -

Macbeth
Julius Caesar
Scarlet Letter
Pilgrim's Progress
SIlas Marner

There should have been more but either I don't remember or we did a lot more short stories/poetry than I recall.

I am a bit of a nerd and track all my flights so I can actually tell you how long.
231 flights with 526 hours and 25min or ~22 days of flight time covering ~191,000 Miles for this fiscal.

Here's a map of my flights since I graduated 3 years ago:

Some people might think that's crazy but I like using this short scene from Up in the Air to explain:

My thoughts reading through the thread (will be updated as I go along):

Ah yes, wordpress. You know information's legitimate when it's posted there

And great Matt's just shown up

Wait...he's 42 and his son is the age of everyone in the bar? So he had his son at around 21? Ok. Also, defamation's a ***** to prove, so eh.

Also, how do you lose your house over this?

Matt, dude, at least try to be believable. You were driving from LA to Des Moines when you decided to take a detour to Chicago to get Pizza? And you have tons of houses across the country *insert Jennifer Lawrence "yeah, ok" gif*

"I've been to 2,000 cities in the past 6 years". So we spend one day in each city and are just super productive at investigative journalism? ok....
