Evil MIL in Canada. Not a fan. A lot of crime where she lives. Would suspect her but her house has been broken into twice and her car stolen three times.

The guy checking passports at the border asked where I was headed. When he learned I was going to Hamilton, he said " Ah...Hammer-town eh?".

One of my best friends is Canadian. Spent a long weekend up there and enjoyed the company of everyone I met. I think it would be a great place to place to live. In about a year my son will be 4 and we'll fly back up there for a visit. Can't wait.

My experience with Poutine is that I want the fries to stand up in the container. Think of the big cardboard thingy that McDonalds fries comes in. I don't want the gravy to make my fries soggy. Vertical fries keep that crunch attribute. The bottom of the fries in the gravy gets soggy, but it mends in with the gooey melted cheese curds. Booya!
Ooh, vertical french fries might be the key to the whole thing. It just might be the sogginess that hurts my view of poutine. Well, that and I don't usually use gravy unless the turkey is pretty dry. Generally au jus is the preferred method of keeping meat moist. I know he's not exactly a rock star, but Michael Buble seems like a pretty cool guy.

A good friend of mine grew up on a tree farm north of Toronto. When I first met him, I tried to talk hockey. He knew nothing about hockey which was good because I know very little about it.

One possibility for our neighborhood road trip this summer is the North Shore of Lake Superior and down through Michigan. If we do go, I'll pass along anything I learn about socialized medicine.

I'm not going to lie, I had to look up Poutine.
This is why there needs to be an updated Bob and Doug, so that we can learn things like this about Canada and not be stuck with just the stuff that makes us want to poke our eyeballs out like Bieber and Drake.

Going to Green Day tonight with the 13yr old.

The youngest had a yearly physical today. Ever since she was about a year or younger she has been the most chill of the 4 at the Dr. She had 2 shots and a finger poke--not even a flinch from her. The next oldest used to freak out anytime we went to the Dr--even if we weren't there for her.

This brought back a memory I'd almost forgotten. I went to a fashion show at ISU during my freshman year. This cute little redhead from my stat class invited me to go since she was helping put it on. She said her ancestors were gypsies, which is still the only time I've ever been told that in my life.

There were mostly avant garde pieces, and my naive ass I didn't know what to expect. I had come straight from an intramural sand volleyball game and was wearing a tank top, my favorite shorts that were made out of a burlap material and sandals (probably Birkenstocks at the time). If there was a game of Where's Waldo at that show, you could have found me in a second.

The girl was helping to put on the show, but she also designed some of the items and walked the runway wearing a couple of her pieces. One of the first things she wore had some kinda mermaid tail on and she basically shimmied (nicely) down the runway backwards. The last thing she walked out wearing was a strategically placed ribbon and nothing else.

Nothing ever happened between us cuz I was way too shy at the time and didn't make any kinda move with her. I think she ended up dropping out of college a month or so later because I only saw he in class a few more times. I do wonder if I dodged a crazy bullet or a crazy night, though.

Love me some Green Day. I saw them about 15 years ago and they put on a really good show.

Redhead? Mermaid tail? Sounds like you almost dated Ariel.
