Yesterday, we spent 5 hours outside doing yard work and planting. About 3.5 hours into it, our neighbor to the north came over and asked if we wanted some impatiens and begonias. She had bought them and didn't want them now. I was like, sure, that works. Flowers aren't cheap. She brings over 24 of each. I was thinking we were getting maybe 6 or so, but ok. I offer her money, and she refuses.
About 45 minutes later, our neighbor to the south comes over. She's got 4 bags of hostas and wants to know if we wanted a bag. Again, I was like, sure, that works.
So what could have been about 3.5 hours worth of yard work ended up being closer to 5 hours by the time we were done. I was grateful for the plants, but my back somehow aged 15 years. If only I had a three-day weekend to recover from my three day weekend.
