I debated throwing Orville and Wilbur out but figured if she shot down Clyde, Lloyd and Walter they were a long shot. I am married...I have no opinion.

Advice from an old man. Work the middle name. Many women will not get excessively worked up over the middle name but will put their favorite first name with it and think it doesn't work well. If you have a reason for the middle name (both our sons have family middle names) it will make it hard to counter it. My wife wanted a first name (was set on it) for our last, when the middle name was set, she did not like the combo and pitched the first name. I thought she picked a girls name for a boy so I was happy.

The other way to help with a name is find one she totally dislikes and keep pushing it, you can then scrap both ones and come up with a suitable middle ground.

Boxster, you are correct in the bball thread to note that Forte is an undercutting little prick. I'm thinking a call to Big Markie may be in order and perhaps the Okie Leprechaun will have an unfortunate accident soon. You have his current number, BC?

She has a family tradition on the first born girl middle name so we have discussed it if it was a boy.

Does she have names she really likes?

We had two girls names that we liked but that list has grown to four or five now. Boys names we have no idea.

Don't you, (work with it) a family tradition with boys names that include airplane type stuff? Here is your chance on the boys names 50% chance your having one. Wife made lists and it changed all the time. I seemed to build the name I liked through different methods.

Did not fall asleep during the game. So glad these seniors got a win. All the speeches were good.

However, Johnny's totally missed the mark. Went in at half time for dessert and got excited when they had Scotcheroos. Upon first bite, it was merely a very bad rice crispy treat covered in chocolate. Pure abomination. Obviously they missed the entire thread here about Scotcheroos.

That game was a wild ride even for the sleep deprived. Poor Johnny would probably charge straight up out of his grave if he knew his establishment was serving fake Scotcheroos. What a letdown.

When you just keep cranking out boys, you only have to pick that girl's name once, let it ride, and never get to use it.

If I were Prohm and we meet OSU in the Big 12 tourney I would run that little prick into a nasty moving screen from Holden and flatten the bastard. Prohm would never do that because he is a good man. Me, I would be really thinking about. You can probably tell one of my beach reads this week was a Jack Reacher.

Our names always changed each time. Never had a carryover.

/\ True this. Boxster is actually my middle name, not my first.

CWW#2 hated her given name and went by (and officially legally changed later) Gray which was her middle name. Unusual and people were always transposing letters or "correcting" it to "Gary" which was interesting with reservations.

Or wind up having your son use it for HIS daughter. :D

Save it for grandbabies!

My niece made my sister cry this fall when she used our late mother's first name for her little baby girl's middle name. Was totally unexpected.
The name my son used was my mother's name - she died when he was a bun in the oven, and he never got to meet her. *snif*

With 4 girls we covered all 4 great grandmas and 1 grandma with names. Except we found out later that what we thought was MIL's given name that we used as a middle name is not actually on her birth certificate (she goes by a shorter name which we thought was simply a nickname). It is only on her baptismal certificate. I forget the reason. All of her sisters have longer names and go by shortened versions, so we thought she was the same.

When our first was born. My wife wanted the middle name of the girl to be named after her recently departed grandma. The problem was, her grandma's name was Alphield and her nickname was Toots. The grandma's middle name of Geneva worked much better.
