If I know you it’s fine. I was raised to not express emotion, Bavarian blood and military style. Women don’t bother me but another man randomly hugging me is out of my comfort zone, it’s not an anti gay thing just preference. I don’t initiate handshakes either.
I come from a southern family (Virginia, Louisiana, & Houston) on one side, and a Germanic, laconic Hill Country Texan family on the other side. The southern side won. :D

What I remember of my ancestors is Namesake is NW German coast. One is Baden Baden and another is stuttgardt area.

The oddball is from around Bergen Norway. I think that area, but it doesn’t seem right. Should track them down, a lot of oil money in Norway. Maybe I have some rich relatives.

Not sure about that but definitely usually have to rent their work space/shop.

I get cut 2-3 times a year and it's $30 for basic barber but that's now the current average price. I have to get an appointment far in advance but the guy who cuts it is WAY better than the walk-in place that costs $25.

2-3 times a year? The homeless guy look is popular in Iowa. Visited a friend in the hospital recently. Dude needed a haircut. Was in for a heart procedure. Told him to be sure to shave. Never go into a medical procedure without being well groomed. ;)

Hugging guide.

He’s a Wisconsin guy.

Keep seeing this farmer gal, "Laura Farms" who has gone viral on social media, popping into my Facebook feed. Young 20-something that looks a LOT like a gal I knew in college. Sort of freaks me out.

Daughter has longer hair. She just got her hair trimmed up a couple inches. $85. I don’t spend that much on haircuts all year. No color or anything for her since she’s 20. I always thought hair dressers didn’t make much but I’m starting to change my mind.

My gal has bumped mens cuts up to $25 but she just got divorced and has a boatload of bills to work off. I'll stay with her I'm guessing she's cut my hair for 20 yrs plus. That includes a shampoo before cut, dang that is a good shampoo she uses and she gives a awesome scalp massage.

:) We know the real reason.........I bolded them for the slow folks.

Need to mini-rant here. We're leaving on Monday for a weeklong trip in the RV. We have a ton of stuff to do...like grocery shopping, preparing food in advance, loading the camper, making sure stuff is good for the cats while we're gone.
We're also dealing with continuing repairs after the hail damage - there are guys on the roof right now putting on the gutter toppers. And the guy that was here two days ago to reseal the deck only got half of it done. Plus, there's a guy that hasn't finished pouring cement over by the garagemahal. And the guy who did our pest management booster sprayed the foundation just before it rained yesterday so HE has to come back out.

Anyhoo - one of our daughters was whining because for the second year in a row we went over to a cousin's acreage for a BIG afternoon of food & fireworks, and we didn't do anything here (it's been about four years now; the last was pre-covid). So, against our better judgement we said okay...we'll do something on Saturday. So we sent out a little invite to local family. The Iowa ex-SIL is bringing two of our granddaughters and two of Lew's sisters are also coming. And we took time out to prepare food, fireworks, etc. They're supposed to be here at 1p. Daughter JUST texted and said she is a little under the weather so they won't be here. THE ONLY REASON WE PUT ANYTHING TOGETHER WAS BECAUSE SHE WANTED IT. And now we're stuck, because we can't UNinvite the ones that are coming. Grrrrrrrrr....
