It was funny in the winter to watch people backing out of spaces in my parking lot. Lots of non-cold climate folks there. They park in the morning. Midday sun warms the cars enough to drop the wheel-well slush on the ground behind all four tires. Late afternoon, lot now shaded, slush lumps re-freeze, directly behind the tires. People hop in their cars and find that they can't "get over the hump", so to speak.
I carried a stick in my car; when I parked, I would knock the slush out with the stick, and scatter it with my foot. Problem solved.
