Random ISU FB player you remember

Ryan Sloth from Belmond - a walk on that ended up starting at corner and was a great special teams player. The roster listed him at 5'8" but I'm 5'8" and I towered over him. He was realistically around 5'4" which makes it even more impressive that he started as a Big 12 cornerback.

Played basketball against him in high school. He was probably the only kid in the county that was faster than me. He later wrote children's books and was an extra in a few football movies like We Are Marshall and Leatherheads. No idea what he is up to these days.

David Archer QB from the 80’s. I remember him for playing with Atlanta Falcons and for trying to impress my sister when she was an undergrad and he was a student there. She shot him down. She did not follow football and had no idea who David Archer was when he told her.

Story gave me a good laugh when she told me a few years later.

Kelly Goodburn.

He went on to solid career as punter in the NFL.

In high school he was QB in our (now defunct) conference. I didn't compete against him directly, he was senior when I was freshman and I wasn't in FB that year and didn't play any minutes in varsity BB.

Tony Yelk
I have vivid memories of him kicking xp’s onto/over the Jacobson building.. and he would have kickoffs go through the uprights.

….and he would get seemingly half his kicks blocked.

Jeff Brazwell. He was a monster at linebacker. Only got to play one year because the NCAA screwed him over. He was on the short side so not an NFL guy but one heck of a college football player

Tracy Henderson was such a great receiver. Wish he would have stayed one more year. There were reasons he didn't.

Jordan Carstons was one of my favorites. If I remember right he was a walk on that ended up in the NFL.
