The nation has spoken! They want Farmageddon to continue. I am good with their setup. I like those three schools as rivals.

As long as Pollard continues to have little interest in protecting KSU, or anyone for that matter, this will probably be an uphill battle.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of natural rivalries left to drive this, and most of the rest have been protected. They have just left ISU out of that mix.

The only bright spot is how big this game looked this week, how well everyone traveled and was a great showing for the conference and the game. The other thing that could possibly help is the SECs new 3 protected opponents could help get the conversation going.

It just does not appear that JP has any interest in fighting for any protected opponents and has never really considered KSU or anyone a true rival.

But time will tell, hopefully something will happen. Having a few opponents that are true every year rivals feels like a no brainer. Playing someone in a great game, then not getting to play them again for several years just seems like great way to completely kill the atmosphere and hype, and really seems like a good way to create dissolution in the fanbase.

Four sets of protected rivals.

CU/ISU/KU/KSU

UC/UH/UCF/WVU

BU/OSU/TCU/TTU

UA/ASU/BYU/UU

Play the other three in your set (3).

Play 2/4 on rotation with each other set (2*3 = 6)

3 + 6 = 9

It's perfect.
This is what I'd prefer. The original Big 8 schools need to play every year.

Every other conference has more than one protected rivalry not sure why it's so hard for the Big 12. You'd think they'd want to give each team protected games against the teams that are 1) closer for transportation reasons, 2) get the fans excited.

You're not good to sell nearly as many tickets in JTS in November vs UCF than you will vs kstate or Colorado.
