Props to the fans

We had tickets in section 12, everyone around us had masks on all game. I did turn around a few times and a didn't see many masks on in the suites.
The piped in crowd noise was odd. But I felt overall the experience was fantastic. If you did not go and have the ability I would try and find tickets to a game this year.

Agreed, the fans sounded great on TV. For those of you who were there, how was everything? Did you feel safe given the precautions and rules in place?

Yeah. Honestly the only time I was close to anybody was leaving, which I kind of expected. I will say getting in and out of Ames in like 15 minutes on a game day was insane.

Had a death in the family so I missed out on a lot of things this weekend. Did get to watch the game but Mediacom signal was really bad in western Ia. Question is what and where were the tailgate warning for? Was it more for a social distancing aspect. By the looks on some TV interviews they did the Haunted Forest looked pretty bare.

There wasn’t supposed to be tailgating so I assume they warned those that were.

Agree. I backed my car out, got right on Center Drive, got right out onto University (Elwood), and then dropped off my daughter at Freddy Court. Amazingly easy exit. For a basketball-sized crowd, it was way easier to leave the lots than any of those games.

Some folks must have parked in other locations.

saw lots of people drinking in their cars (i guess police overlook that in an ISU parking lot? a buddy got busted for drinking in a running car in college - hmm) and we walked around and drank. from our car to the game and then back out at halftime. didn't see anyone tailgating normally but did see other walking around like us. no one stopped us.

I was honestly impressed with how everyone handled it. Saw only one or two people outside the stadium not wearing them and none inside.

Bathrooms had "attendants" that were wiping all contact surfaces down on a fairly regular basis it seemed.

It was awesome having space to stretch out. Only had a seat between us and another group. Suppose we could have spread out more but it didn't occur to us.

Yelling at the refs and getting mad/excited is a bit more difficult when you are constantly eating your mask.

Just got our tickets for Tech put into our account, so looks like everyone followed the rules well enough to have fans again this week. From what I saw there was pretty good mask adherence and people stayed put for the most part in the upper deck in our area.

So, if you have tickets for Tech, does that mean you did not have tickets for OU? Just curious how they are divvying up the games (we opted out of our tickets for this year due to age & other concerns).

On tv it sounded like any other game.
