What are the people thinking who just have their flashlight turned on? Do they think, somehow, someway, that their flashlight automatically participates in the flashing on and off? Or do they just get enjoyment from partially ruining the effect for everyone else?

Probably people that aren't tech savvy yet are enthusiastic about ISU basketball. Stupid bastards!

I wonder if its people who don’t get good cell service, so the app doesn’t work well.

Winner winner

My wife opens the app and if service works 25% of time she's lucky (Verizon customer). I just leave my phone in my pocket at the game because I know I am not going to have any service.

The synchronization is done through ultrasonic sound cues so you shouldn't need any service to make it work. Maybe the searching for service is messing it up. You could try putting your phone in airplane mode and see if it works. The demo runs OK that way with multiple phones but I've not actually tried it at a game.

The guy that invented the app has outed himself.

I find it funny. Look up, and there are solid lights amongst the blinking. Just like everywhere else. Need a few more people with the app to get it complete.

I wonder if some of it isn't their phones being bad or having faulty hardware.

While we're ******** about things that really aren't that big of a deal, what the hell is the deal with people who can't clap along to the beat of the fight song? Either have rhythm or sit on your hands dammit!!!!!!!!!

Probably caused by poor cell service at games.

Ok good to know. When she opens the app it takes forever like it is struggling do to poor service. Then she says f it and puts the phone away.
