Good, hopefully he stays just like Schiano did for us. Not enough of that in college football these days.
Obviously there are hardcore pessimists and optimists, but the common middle ground opinion seems to be that as long as the money keeps coming in to keep a quality staff in place, keep making facility improvements, and just generally be competitive we will be able to hold on to him as long as none of the true "big boys" (OU, Texas, etc.) come calling. His personal ties to the area are strong and he appears to relish the challenge of building something here. He's probably bound for bigger and better things some day (unlike McCarney), but this job is not solely a stepping stone for him (unlike Chizik).
It's a very similar situation. This is home for Paul Rhoads. He grew up 20 miles a way and spent time here as an assistant before coming back. It's a great fit for everyone involved. As long as he has the resources, most of us think we can keep him.

I just did a very scientific analysis of the RU/ISU matchup to determine the winner. I compared the players who wore the Yankee jersey #20 (held by JP above) and 11 (I assume that's the RU AD.)
Lots of folks have worn the numbers, but comparing the best #20s to the best #11s (using folks I would equate as Yankees, and not folks like Knoblauch and Gooden who made their name elsewhere)
#20s: Jorge Pasada and Bucky F-ing Dent
#11s: Rick Cerone and Len Sakata.

Paul Rhoads is working really close to were he grew up as a kid. His family is here. This is his dream job. I'm not saying he'll never leave, but he is happy here and is making things happen at ISU
Manhattan is magical during this time of year! New Jersey/Rutgers fans take it for granted! The new Yankee Stadium is incredible as well!! imho:smile:
That's great. I was asking about that the other day. There are some very cool things that you wouldn't get to do at a "nicer" weather location.
