OSU vs Texas Thread

So because of Texas winning... we have a better chance of finishing the season #1 in the Big 12.... but less chance of even making it into the championship game, right?

I guess that means we just have to win the whole f***ing thing then.

OSU plays really well against us in all facets, then puts this straight dumpster of a game up today. Of course.
Texas’ D-Line was much better than ours. Pressure creates mistakes and frankly, they contained Sanders all game. Though, we did generate multiple turnovers.
Wish we could re-do a couple offensive possessions from the OSU game.

Whether or not going 3-1 the rest of the way is good enough to get in depends on who that loss is to. Too many scenarios to keep track of right now.

Side note we also just need Oklahoma State to tank now, and with a likely loss to OU they just need one more somewhere. K State upsetting them would be beneficial too if we win all but the Texas because then we likely get a 3-way tie with OU and Texas at 7-2 in the conference. It would go to the record against the #4 team at that point I believe since OU beat UT, we beat OU and UT beat us. If K State is that #4 team it's us and UT in the title game since OU would have lost to them.

We shall see won't we. I just did some calculations on Mred's model and there were so many ways this could end up a 3-way tie with Okie State beating Texas that we would still lose out. The quest remains the same. Win out and we're in. It's all in front of us and there is NOT a single team left on the schedule we can't beat. Will we? Time to put up or shut up.

Also, why are you assuming Texas wins out? They have looked shaky all year and played well enough today to win. Still took 4 turnovers from OSU and they STILL had to win it in OT. This is the same Longhorn team that should have lost to terrible Texas Tech if it wasn't for the Red Raiders literally handing them the game. WVU and K State can beat Texas.

You're correct that we control our own destiny, but I think many are rooting for some extra margin for error. Best case scenario for us, I feel, is if Texas gets to 3 losses.

“First place but definitely not winning the conference.”

JFC if some of you won the lottery you’d be in a depression about the taxes you paid on it.
Yep, what today did was scramble the conference and basically said, "Ok, who has the chops to come out on top?" We are in the hunt for it and control our own destiny, and a few short years ago we would be salivating for that chance 5 games into a Big 12 season. And if we can't beat Baylor, WVU and K State with their injury at QB, we don't deserve to play for it anyway. Get those three and then rumble with Texas.

Their game with WVU next week is no cakewalk with the way WVU plays defense. Their offense has also looked much better lately. And this is the same Texas Longhorn team that should have lost to lowly Texas Tech. Then they still have to play K State too, so that third loss is still out there. Oh and that third loss could also come to us, which is what we really want.
