OSU v UM Axed

If OSU only needs 5-6 games on their resume to get in, which 5-6 do we get to pick out of our schedule to put on our resume?

Exactly right. We'd be 5-0 or 6-0 then.... with wins over Texas and OU.... which would make tOSU's resume look like crap.

Yep. I can see the argument 'they played who was on their schedule', but you can make that argument every other year for G5 teams that go undefeated.
This is a great comment! I don’t want to hear a damn thing about an undefeated G5 team not getting into the CFP because of their strength of schedule if you are going to let Ohio State in with theirs this year.

Coastal Carolina is 10-0 and beat 9-1 BYU. That is better than tOSU's resume.

They also have a road win against top-20 Louisiana and a win against a decent App. State team. I see no difference between Coastal and Ohio State when you stack them up resume wise. Other than that little fact where Coastal has double the wins.

I thought the same at first then realized they already had their chance and lost head to head.

The idea that head to head matters with regards to this is dumb. Plenty of conference champions have had a loss to a team not in the title game, doesnt mean that other team belonged. OSU didn't meet the requirements agreed to by all before the season. Indiana did. They deserve the spot.

The only question is among the 50 undefeated teams if everyone got to play by Ohio State rules, who would have the best wins? Our OU and Texas wins probably do get us in that top 4 debate, at least at the #7 spot we're at.

That would be like the big 12 giving OUs spot to OSU because OU already lost head to head. Indiana met the requirements laid out at the beginning of the season. OSU did not. The conference is straight up snatching that game away from Indiana.

There needs to be some sort of public apology or admission that they have radically changed the rules since they deemed that 12 games is not enough to be considered and will result in getting dropped three spots the last week.

Indiana doesn't have **** for data points either.

According to the committee years past nobody knows if Indiana is any good.

The entire Big Ten and Pac 12 need to either be excluded from the playoff this year, or the committee needs to issue a statement that they were completely wrong with their criteria the previous few years and that in the future they only need to analyze 5-6 games from each team to know who the best four teams are.
