OSU postgame overreaction thread

I was having a good day until my daughter asked me who won lol....

I'm gonna binge watching Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul the rest of this week and take a few days off of sports.

TO's has/will hinder this team. If they cut it in half then I'm afraid your ceiling is sweet-16.

I would like someone to explain the offensive strategy -which has never evolved - of getting the ball to the worst ball handler on the team at the top of the key to start each possession. Then repeatedly reversing the ball with no movement anywhere else - and everyone in the gym knows the pass is going to the top of the key.

We continue to work further and further from the basket. TJ has Green as the D Coordinator. Who is the O Coordinator?

But we thought we could get to a Final 4. That's where the doom n gloom is coming from.
I still think we can. It WILL be a little harder, though.

Recency bias is a very real thing and I understand why some people are saying what they're saying regarding the team right now.

Last nights loss is not pretty. Hopefully it lights a fire under their asses going into the tournament.

Real problem with the team is no one can dribble. Like name a guy who can dribble and doesn't do 5+ turnovers a game. We don't have one. Any team with more than one athletic guard will make us their *****. Hopefully there's none of those in March!!!!!!!!

It’s now pretty clear that Auburn was a mirage. No one knew how to guard them. Gilbert was getting into the lane at will. Now, there’s a help defender awaiting every guard, every time one drives (to others’ point about opponents knowing how to defend against ISU). I wish they’d have better anticipation and kick the ball out without getting stripped or the ball getting tipped, but it seems like every other drive ends that way. I want to say Jackson was rarely doubled against Auburn. Now he and Jefferson are an automatic TO if you just flash a second defender. Gilbert running free opened things up for Momcilovic and Jones. looking at the box score now, Nojus played 7 minutes! How long ago that seems. Chatfield also played 7, which is interesting
I guess there was a reason most of these guys were initially at mid-major schools.

Yep. Well my expectations have changed and I would now be happy with another trip to the Sweet 16

You weren’t going to be happy with another Sweet 16 before?

A FF was plausible, and it still is possible, but it’s a crapshoot and only the very elite aren’t happy with a Sweet 16

We are far from the top programs in funding. Another Sweet 16 would be remarkable in this NIL era

It’s stupid to never not be happy with a sweet 16. If we, as a fan base, ever seriously get to that point it would be stupid.

But let’s not pretend the podcasters on this site have been saying this is a final 4 team since before the season. They weren’t guaranteeing it but it was the expectation they put on this team.

This is about the 3rd or 4th time this year he’s said “that won’t happen again” and then surprise! It happens again
Link?

Still could. And could lose early. So could Auburn, Duke, ...
Crazy things happen in the tournament. So many final 4 teams barely avoid a huge upset in the 1st 2 rounds to a low seed underdog playing it's best.

This was a bad loss, not for it's relationship to tournament success, but because of where this team should want to be at this point of this season. Now it's up to the players and coaches to determine how they will respond. I'm hoping for an inspired effort Saturday.

K State at home. Zero energy, urgency, or intensity. TJ had to create a T to try and motivate them that game.

Other than the T, it happened again…
It was not as bad as last night. It was bad, but not to the level of last night.

Tell me you’re not familiar with college basketball

Take a look at the rosters of Bama, Auburn…most of the top 25. Lots of teams with multiple starters initially at mid-majors or lower

If getting guys that were initially at mid-major schools means getting upset as the #9 team to Ok St, we should continue to do so

You can still be a Final Four quality team and not make it. Only 4 make it each year.. if my math is correct.

We've gone from thinking we were a Final Four contender, to hoping to be a Cinderella.
