In TJ's first 3 years we had really good injury luck. Very few missed games for key players. Injuries have certainly impacted this conference season. The turnover thing is extremely puzzling though; just tons of unforced turnovers for weeks now. This team has shown us what they are capable of when healthy. The only sleepy game left on the schedule is at Kstate. We always seem ready to play against top opponents, so hopefully that carries forward. I think what we all love about this team and past TJ teams is the effort and grit they play with. Okie State is not good and was not good tonight. It's just tough seeing our team give this one away due to lack of effort. No doubt in my mind they beat AZ by double digits on Saturday.
Okie State is not good, but hard to agree with them not being good tonight. We got another example of an opposing player having an uncharacteristically herculean effort. Not saying they don't win without that kind of game from Ousmane but damn we made him look like a healthy Joel Embiid tonight.

Hell of a job by this staff (and players) for being in the top-10 for so long, despite not being a top-10 roster

Of the last 13 years, where does this team rank in terms of raw talent?

I’d put 6 or so above it

But we thought we could get to a Final 4. That's where the doom n gloom is coming from.
We still could

Being a FF favorite was dependent on Milan making a leap from last season, and not missing Rob and Ward. I think it was clear pretty early that Milan was similar, and we do miss Rob

People loved to talk about what Kansas States analytics were around the 2 weeks we lost to them. What have our analytics been the last month?

It was rationalizing losses. It's what this fanbase does. Heard all about what a good loss WVU was, then they proceeded to lose like 5 straight. Same with K-State. Turns out they suck...who knew. Now tipping our caps to Oklahoma State as if they are a good team that's just had a few bad breaks.

Yep. Well my expectations have changed and I would now be happy with another trip to the Sweet 16

I think the KState loss this year was worse, and more consequential, than this one. So for those saying this is the worst loss of the TJ era, I respect the commitment to the bit, but that ain't true.

My overreaction is that teams with longer and more athletic guards will continue to feast on us and will be this teams ultimate demise this season. I love Tamin, but he's not a big guy, and teams have found a way to take advantage of that.

Turnovers killing us. Have pride in taking care of the ball.

OK St - 18 TO’s
Hou - 12
Colo - 14
Cincy - 12
UCF - 13
TCU - 15
KU - 12
KSU - 18

We had 9 against Aub, and that game went to OT.
It’s now pretty clear that Auburn was a mirage. No one knew how to guard them. Gilbert was getting into the lane at will. Now, there’s a help defender awaiting every guard, every time one drives (to others’ point about opponents knowing how to defend against ISU). I wish they’d have better anticipation and kick the ball out without getting stripped or the ball getting tipped, but it seems like every other drive ends that way. I want to say Jackson was rarely doubled against Auburn. Now he and Jefferson are an automatic TO if you just flash a second defender. Gilbert running free opened things up for Momcilovic and Jones. looking at the box score now, Nojus played 7 minutes! How long ago that seems. Chatfield also played 7, which is interesting

Not wasting a dime to follow this team to Kansas City. I hope I’m wrong but they no longer seem able to play at a level necessary to win. Would rather go to St. Louis and see Drake play.

I don’t know about StL, but we canceled our room in KC weeks ago. This team is broken right now. I could see them falling to a 5 and getting bit in the 5/12 matchup.

Someone please explain to me the pocket picking that opposing teams have been doing to us all conference season. Other teams defending Tamin, Keshon, Curtis, or Joshua all remind me of when I play defense on NBA 2K games just spamming the steal button. Have coaches identified something in film with regards to tendencies or are refs just not calling as many reach in fouls this year? I don't recall sloppy ball handling plaguing this almost identical group a year ago.

The guards don't seem to have great handles so pressuring them gets them hurried and they seem to panic or try to do too much.

I gave up my subscription to ESPN+ so I couldn't watch. Looks like I haven't missed much this year by dropping that subscription, and I got a good night's sleep because I didn't listen either.

Our guards never look to kick it out on a drive, and the rare times they do our guys look surprised when it gets passed to them and let it fly out of bounds or something.

This offense all year has been lackluster but has succeeded on brute force. Other teams have caught on to tendencies and take them away.

This team needs a Monte Morris or Will Blalock type guard so, so badly, but those just don't grow on trees. Someone with a fantastic handle that can make crisp passes to the open man when defenders crash the drive.

Wheels have totally fallen off. Maybe we just don't have what it takes to ever be a full season top 10 team. This loss really took it out of me, but I saw it coming.

What now? We do well in the Big 12 tournament? For what? To be bumped early in the NCAA?

This was supposed to be the one that a decent banner was hung up.

We're fighting for a 3 or 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Iowa is fighting to make their CONFERENCE tournament. We haven't been fully healthy for 2 months. Season is a meat grinder. Once the calendar turns to March, the boys will get their second wind, and all will be right with the world again.

Like most, I had high hopes for this team, but they are proving themselves to be soft. They easily get pushed around and lately they commit so many unforced turnovers it is ridiculous. Last year's team was so much tougher. Looking back at our early season success, it now looks like a mirage. Who did we beat that has actually proven to be good. Tech seems like our only good win. I guess I won't feel compelled to buy tickets to the NCAA games, we'll probably get bounced in the first round.

T.J.'s half court offenses have struggled, esp. late in the season, every year he's been here.
Chief problem IMO, no "the guy" who can create his own shot late in the shot clock.
