Onto KU!

If we are going to stay of the 4-line, we need this win. I can see us going 2-5 for the last 7, if things haven't changed in practices. Not sure where 4-3 puts us, but right now, that's my ceiling for the last 7.
My ceiling is 5-2. I think KU and at BYU are very winnable.

I'm looking at one early line with ISU as 5.5 fav ?@?
Seems high; are they dangling the sick DP storyline ?
Self said today DP will play and start. Line has actually increased to Iowa St -7.5 and that's with almost 2/3 of the bets going on KU.

Big money on ISU... And ISU kind of facing a must win, given Monday's opponent and who is left on the schedule

I prefer to believe this team is really good and will bounce back on Saturday. The TCU game was disappointing, but let's not overlook the ISU defense for most of the game. With 2:34 left, TCU had scored 50 pts, ending with a still low 62. ISU forced 15 turnovers and held them to 40% from the field, 28% from 3.

Offense lost the game. I still believe this team is capable of putting up points. Obviously, turnovers were the killer. You can't score if you don't even get a shot off. Secondly, at least one, of Lipsey, Heise, Toure and Batemon has to contribute from the outside, for the points, but also to open space for Milan and Jefferson. Finally, I don't know what to say about FTs, other than you have to get to the line more than 8 times and you have to make a hellofalot better than 25%!

Do I predict a victory over KU? I don't know. I do predict a much better performance, in all the offensive areas I mentioned above, than I saw Tuesday.
i can't find info if the Kansas/Iowa State game is a white out. what is the answer this question?

Thing is, I've been a Cyclone fan for more years than some of the people here have been alive. I have been waiting to get over the hump for so long. Every year that a conference championship hope dies, a part of my fan life does too. Same goes with "early" bumps out of the tournament.

I just want a conference championship or Final Four appearance. Just once...
Agreed, It’s not easy being a Cyclone fan. For the most part (across the decades), the program has been mediocre to bad and then there’s outlier years with solid coaches that give you hope, but it’s pretty clear that we’re not at the tier to be truly legit and get you past the 2nd weekend of the tourney.

It barely bothered you? We had to watch that highlight of the coach with his legs up in the air for the next 15 years. That was an all-time embarrassment nationally. At that time, 15 over a 2 almost never happened. Luckily it's become more common and we've had a 16 over a 1 to get that clip off of the annual montages.
Thankfully the yearly rewind of that embarrassment came to an end.

Lots of 'Hilton Magic' was due to being an underdog and getting down 20 points to come back and win late or just having a big day as a decent team vs. Top Ten teams.

It's not like it was constantly like that and Fred's teams had plenty of lulls that took the crowd out on their own, Johnny lost plenty of home games.
We probably should keep in mind, we couldn't watch EVERY game on our
85" flat screen TV's back in the Orr and Hoiberg eras.
Toss in today's in attendence phones....

Are you just trolling now?

Smart phones and social media were absolutely a thing in Fred's era.

Whether or not that's the case, it's simply a bad spot for them. The odds of winning nine straight in a P4 conference are...not good. They have one good road win against a short-handed Tech team that blew a lead. Iowa State hasn't shot the ball well for almost two weeks. If I'm a professional bettor I'm not necessarily looking at any individual matchup, so if I'm looking at "matchup" at all the results are inconclusive, because Iowa State did just about everything horribly in Lawrence. It'd be one thing if most of the team stats had been fairly even—Iowa State had shot their season average, not turned it over, and still lost.

All that to say, I'm certainly not confident. Peterson is unguardable, and Bidunga presents problems. But it took me many years to finally see how so many college games really come down to "spots," unless one team is substantially better than the other. And none of the analytics suggest there's a gap between these teams
I agree with your points. A couple things I have thought about; 1st going into Lawrence I fully expected to win that game. Up to that point Kansas had showed nothing (except for their comeback against TCU). 2nd Tuesday night we played like crap, about the way we played in Lawrence. Both were road games. I don’t know about tomorrow- KU is on such a heater. However, I think tomorrow tells us a lot. If we can beat Kansas, then I’ve got some optimism going forward. If not, I don’t see anything beyond first wkd of NCAA tourney.

I’m always excited for a cyclone basketball game but I’m especially pumped for the next few starting today. I’m headed to the game and I can assure you me and my brother in law are about to be absolute psychos tip to finish. Tip top lounge for a few good luck beers then headed over! Let’s go
