George Harrison is a good call. Among my favorite vocal work in his solo career is this (ironically, it was the A-side of “Apple Scruffs."
In addition, Blackie Lawless is a stellar rock 'n' roll name.
One often thinks the original is the best (in this case from John Denver), but I came to the conclusion years later, that Mary Travers made this song (another one from 1969). Her vocal is unparalled. .

In 1979 I went to a Cheap Trick concert in Omaha, Nebraska. The opening act was some band named AC/DC. The night before the Cheap Trick concert, Kansas played at the Civic Auditorium. The encore was Carry On My Wayward Son and Rick Nielsen came out and played with the band. Fun times when tickets were dirt cheap.

This might have been the only hit that Sanford Townsend Band had, but John Townsend had a great voice...
