On That Note: Custom Kitchen Deliveries

We could go walking through a windy park
Or take a drive along the beach
Or stay at home and watch TV
You see it really doesn't matter much to me

Got on board a westbound seven forty-seven
Didn't think before deciding what to do
Oh, that talk of opportunities, TV breaks and movies
Rang true, sure rang true

Until you've seen, this trash can dream come true
You stand at the edge, while people run you through

(Let's dance) put on your red shoes and dance the blues
(Let's dance) to the song they're playing on the radio
(Let's sway) while colour lights up your face
(Let's sway) sway through the crowd to an empty space

Not the ovens you probably wanted, but…

Didn't say about the bodies in the concentration camps
Didn't say about the knives underneath the lamps
Doesn't say that the ovens are still warm
Doesn't say that this wretched little form

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said,
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burning coal
Pouring off of every page
Like it was written in my soul
From me to you
Tangled up in blue

When you haven't any coal in the stove and you freeze
In the winter and you curse to the wind at your fate
When you haven't any shoes on your feet and your coat's thin as paper
And you look thirty pounds underweight

We'll talk about a low-down bad refrigerator,
You were just too cool for school
Sock hop, soda pop, basketball and auto shop,
The only thing that got you off was breakin' all the rules
James Dean, James Dean
So hungry and so lean
James Dean, you said it all so clean
And I know my life would look all right
If I could see it on the silver screen

Both great versions in their own way.

Not 100% sure, but I think in the Nazareth version he sings, "love is like a flame, burns you when it's hot."

Yup, fixed it for ya.

Once knew a woman who had dated one of the Everly broze in Shenandoah...but never ever knew that they had gone forward in time to steal this one from some Scottish boys.
