There are ways that I can see this make sense, but those don't seem like Campbell's approach.
There are plenty that don't make sense.
In any case, I think we can all agree that it's all over, and it's time to get sources of fire for next year's tickets.
Might as well.

no, this whole thread is an argument about him interviewing. its extremely unlikely he is offered the job, and i would think even more unlikely he takes it
Of course. I was trying to be funny.

It's obvious Campbell is staying (we think/hope), and if one day he does want to go to the NFL, and is offered, the least likely spots IMO would be to the Jets or the Bears. Both organizations are less than ideal from an ownership or management POV, at least historically.

Doesn't matter who is coaching the Bears to be honest. until they fix the way they do things organizationally, it will continue to be a dumpster fire.
The family doesn't know what it takes to build a winner. That died with George.

CBS Sports says 5 people have interviewed with the Bears for their head coaching jobs. There are 10 more interviews to come, one of those is Campbell. Of the 15 coaches the Bears are interested, Campbell is the only one with no Pro experience.

It’s kind of a funny cycle in the NFL. X team has a great season so the O or D coordinator is suddenly the hot ticket. I don’t have the stats, and it does obviously workout from time to time, but the skill sets are very different, coordinator vs HC.

22 of the 32 head coaches employed at the start of 2024 were O/D coordinators immediately before they became head coaches at their current stop. With the 6 that were fired the 3 were coordinators 3 were non coordinators directly before being hired.

Playoff split:

HC who were not coordinators in last stop - 5 made the playoffs 5 missed the playoffs

HC who were coordinators in last stop - 9 made the playoffs 13 missed

Current coaches who were not coordinators immediately before their current job:
Jim Harbaugh (HC college)
John Harbaugh (DB coach)
Zach Taylor (QB coach)
Dan Campbell (AHC/TE coach)
Mike McCarthy (HC in GB before that he was OC)
Sean Payton (HC in NO before that AHC/QB in Dallas)
Andy Reid (HC in Philly before that AHC/QB in GB)
Antonio Pierce - Fired
Doug Peterson - Fired
Jerod Mayo - Fired

There isn’t a big correlation for coordinators succeeded or failing based on where they got hired from or if they were coordinators before they became HC
