Titans @ Jacksonville tonight for their annual Thursday night classic. Maybe Jalen Ramsey's last game as a Jaguar if he plays at all. Seems like the smart thing to do if they're exploring trade options would be to sit him and avoid the injury risk.

Games I'm looking forward to:

BAL @ KC - Potential playoff game preview?
LA Rams @ CLE - Good measuring stick game for the Browns. Are they for real or not?

That's about it. Pretty lackluster slate of games. Saints @ Seahawks looked better before Brees got hurt.

If the Jaguars are going to trade Ramsey they need to sit him before they have a Seattle/Earl Thomas situation where they played him instead of trading him and he got hurt and they got nothing in return when he left this summer.

Interesting trade made by the Steelers. They need secondary help, but a first rounder is a hefty price for someone with only two interceptions.

The Vikings need to come out looking like a real football team this weekend, not like how they came out last weekend.

Yeah. How they've handled this makes no sense. If they're talking to multiple teams and he's made it clear he wants out then why risk injury? It's not quite the same as the Earl Thomas situation since I think Thomas was going to be a free agent when he got hurt and Ramsey still has another year or two on his rookie deal. So even if he did suffer a season ending injury they'd still have him under contract. Still, by now they should have committed to either keeping him as part of their long term plan or trading him. This feels like they're trying to have it both ways by playing him and shopping him at the same time.

The Dolphins are tanking tanking and definitely doing it right. They won that trade.

I was surprised the Steelers made the move after Big Ben was ruled out the rest of the season. Feels like a win-now move for a team that probably isn't good enough to contend this year. I read somewhere that the Steelers now have eight former first round picks starting on the defensive side of the ball. With that sort of pedigree they should be much, much better than they have been.

Definitely. That makes three first round picks for Miami, with two of them most likely being in the top 10.

Maybe all three landing in the top ten if the wheels come off in Pittsburgh and Houston. If Deshaun Watson goes down the Texans are in a world of trouble. And the rate he's taking hits just isn't sustainable.

Houston isn't doing all that well with Watson. They are a two-point conversion away from being winless. Miami is in a really good spot for next year.

Nike just dropped their endorsement deal with Antonio Brown. He also lost his deal with that helmet company Xephyr.

On the other hand, they're a 58 yard FG away from being 2-0 with a tough road win in New Orleans. Either way, they go as Watson goes. If/when he gets injured they're toast. Through two games he's on pace to be sacked eighty times. That doesn't even take into account the hits and pressures.

And Watson goes as that O-Line goes. Plus their play calling has been very questionable. Constantly facing 3rd and long.

That would be a record according to Wikipedia. (David) Carr holds it right now at 76.

It isn't all on his line, although they're not helping. He holds the ball too long trying to make something happen. And like you said, the play calling is suspect. Recipe for disaster.

Other than the Pats, nobody looks dominant. So many games are pick 'em type games, and the injury bug has struck early this year. I can't help but wonder where Minny would be had they kept Case Keenum 2 years ago.

Probably treading water. Just because Cousins hasn't been the answer doesn't mean Keenum was the guy either.

Everyone would look dominate against the Dolphins and now the Jets. They destroyed the Steelers but it was week one and Big Ben was messed up.

The Packers are looking good now that they have a good defense. The Chiefs look good, both wins on the road. Baltimore looks good now that Lamar has the confidence to throw. Rams look good. Cowboys look good.
