Who else is in portal that could possibly come back?
This could be good news on two fronts: a) the new coaching staff not giving up on guys who've entered the portal and b) guys in the portal who have second thoughts knowing they will be welcome back---maybe even some who have already committed? As long as the portal is still open, they can still change their minds, right?

They can. It does not mean they are required to leave. It's a decision between them and the coaching staff should they decide to return.

What I do not know for certain is the specifics of how this would work if Player X put their name in the portal, expressed their desire to return, and then coach said "no thanks".

Would they have to cut them/revoke their scholarship at that point? Maybe someone here could explain the mechanics of that.

When you submit for the portal you are announcing yourself you are leaving school and turning in your scholarship. To return is to make a new arrangement.

Interesting. So it's as simply as coach saying "no thank you" and they're $hit out of luck if they want to return.

I think so. The portal was put in place to provide clarity for enrollment purposes for scholarship athletes for spring semester, which is why the calendar is a mess.

Administration needs a **** or get off the pot date to avoid a rolling tide of players leaving whenever.

Don't believe he was in the portal.
Those scholarship players left who I have not across on any portal list/notification:

Ka'Mori Moore
LaMarcus Hicks Jr
Ethan Stecker
Vontroy Malone
Ryver Peppers
Dontrell Holt
Derek Jensen
Garrett Rutledge

There are a few in addition to Cooper who are in the portal but have not yet announced a new team, but don't have them at the ready at this point.

Before I opened it up, thought it was going to be the video of him getting suplexed and pinned in the Olympics. Glad it was other stuff.
Taylor was one huge man. Can you imagine being an opposing heavyweight and shaking hands with him b4 match!

He was a little before my time as Cyclone fan, my only memories of Taylor were as pro wrastler.
