***Official portal tracker thread***

They are listed on the overall player transfer page, not the team page. Not the greatest, up to date website, I know.
When they have the percentage listed by the new school, it’s indicating a prediction. No actual commits from those guys yet.

It's not about more would stay. Although that might be the case with a coaching change because kids would go through the new coaches S&C program.

It's more about trying to create a calendar that isn't built with conflict like it is today.
  1. HS school players sign and coaches are still shifting jobs.
  2. Kids and their agents are actively negotiating pay-for-play deals at new schools, but still playing at current school.
  3. Portal isn't open, but players are "entering the portal"
  4. The portal opens on Jan 2 and some schools start their spring semester as early as Jan 12
Some of the above could be fixed by having the Playoffs finish by around Jan 1 like Dan Lanning suggested. But that still creates a hectic environment for coaches and players.

So why not consider Saban's suggestion of moving the portal until late spring semester. It would allow for a logical sequence:
  1. Games are Played Without Outside Chaos (Regular Season & Playoff)
  2. New Coaches Interviewed & Hired
  3. Current Roster Players Focus on Recovery and S&C Most of Spring Semester
  4. HS Recruit Signing Date in February (New Coaches in Jobs 30 days)
  5. Open Portal late spring. I believe Saban even suggested after Spring Semester Finals in May.
  6. Players Report to Campus in June like they do today. But allow for spring practice in summer or NFL OTA approach.
  7. Fall Practice Starts August 1
Good plan.

some of there players sound like they are looking at schools other than just PSU. Maybe Campbell pushed too much money to a handful of players and is light on funds.
My gut says that MC is having the guys that will be harder sells go look for money elsewhere…then he can justify overpaying them to come to pedo.

He can’t just blindly overpay all of them from the jump. But I think he’s clearly gonna reward loyalty with pedo’s NIL $.

We’ll see…but if I’m right, the best part will be all the blowback from pedo fans and players when our guys are making more & playing while they ride the pine at a discount.

I can see it breaking out into factions & being an issue. He’s already pushing out guys like their qb’s. Those guys have to have friends that are staying that can’t be happy about this…especially knowing they might get the shaft yet too.

If true how long will donors continue to give him that kind of money to spend? Sadly, probably forever but yeah - it’s going to ruffle some feathers. All of that said I don’t know if some of these numbers are true. Brahmer is maybe believable being top ranked TE. Some of the other numbers we’re seeing sound insanely inflated even with that budget.

PSU has the Marshal Thundering Herd on Sept 5th. Feels like a Big Green movie. Go Herd!

He’s only gonna do it this year for most.

But I’m sure he wanted freedom to spend NIL his way.

I think there’s more truth to him considering hanging it up before pedo came than we think.

He just got his retirement fund….over funded regardless of his wins.

He also had over a 10 win average per season. Not sure that’s something Campbell can consistently achieve.
Bill O'Brien's two years at Pedo St.- while succeeding Joe Paterno went 8-4 and 7-5 in the two seasons he coached at Pedo St. See. Joe Paterno was 8-4, 11-2, 11-2, 7-6, and he was 8-1 his last season when was forced out.

Wait and see my friend
You certainly spice up the conversation. Thank you for keeping us over optimistic Iowa State fans grounded. Too many contributors on this thread are too optimistic, including me, I see the program rising under Coach Jimmy Rogers, but you are right there to tamp out any optimistic flames. Well done BadBoi. You sir deserve to be recognized.

I have no idea what kind of coach Jimmy Rogers will be. I have no idea what kind of recruiter Jimmy Rogers could be. But if he gets a kid who by the way is a former SEC offensive lineman, that is from California to commit to play in Ames, Iowa in the dead of ******* winter? We will be more than fine
You forgot to mention the BAG in your list.
