Not so sure. There is a billion dollars plus out there to pay players. Guys may not get what their agents promised. But the money in year 2 post House Settlement is A LOT more than year 1. So guys who were getting little or no money at their current school will get a nice bump.

And nice may mean going from $50k to $100k for a backup type player.
I would be anything money is slightly down this year. House settlement hadn't taken effect last year at this time and big donors rushed to buy players before the "guardrails" were in place.

Likely no. Teams that use analysts are ones where the coach doesn't want to fire the OC of a struggling offense.
He wouldn't need to be an Analyst.

The NCAA changed the rule last summer and schools can have unlimited # of on-field coaches. Just a matter if a role can be created.

There is still a restriction of 11 coaches who can recruit off campus.

So, they run an article based off one hearsay tweet (now deleted) from a guy who wasn’t confirmed to be a relative? Neat.
And based on tweets from a player who knew his landing spot before the new staff even got to campus. That whole set of tweets from Cooper and his Dad? Brother? whoever was a load of BS.

Big donors who jumped in only happened at a few high-end schools.

This year all P4 schools are funding House Settlement, plus there is no guardrails as schools have implemented there own NIL Collectives. It's how Penn State promised CMC $30M to pay FB players.

Agree. Same as family of another player telling people that Matt asked Penn State to pay our 500k bowl fine.

It’s all PR to make it look like they’re not the bad guy.

I don’t disagree with you, but Define “collective”.

That's a good point about all the P4 schools, you are probably right. Don't tell anyone I was wrong though, ok?

If those on the "know" had a lick of common sense they would know it was a wash for KSu and ISU, not getting there CFP monies for TT making it into the playoffs. Big12 just kept our share

Stuff like this makes me think they are just forcing everyone out. Lol.
I'm sure a lot of players are being forced out because:
  1. Jimmy Rogers doesn't see their talents as a good fit for his offense & defense.
  2. Rogers being unwilling to pay same House/NIL $ to players that Matt Campbell was paying guys.
  3. A players agent could be telling them a Big12 starting CB should make $400k. Player approaches Rogers and says "My agent says you should pay me $450k, or I will enter portal". Coach Rogers says, "You probably need to hit the portal".
Until the NCAA creates structure, it's going to only get more chaotic each off-season.

Is there really a need for a north AND south dakota? Can't we just make it a Dakota?
Funny story behind that, the capital of Dakota Territory was Bismarck at the time of the push for statehood.

Most of the southern population that had political pull was in what would now be southeastern South Dakota, so like Vermillion and Yankton. You can lump Sioux Falls in there too, obviously.

During that time, the railroads had evolved into the main arteries of travel and trade, as opposed to water i.e. via the Missouri River.

The western railroad cities had a decision to make, and most cities wanted to retain morr of a direct east/west line as possible. North Dakotans fell more under the sphere of influence of the twin cities... a general cultural and commercial connection that exists to this day.

While South Dakotans felt more directly tied to the cattle markets of Chicago and Omaha/Council Bluffs, via the direct existing corridors through Iowa, ironically. The remnants of this is where we get the corridors of Highways 3 and old 20, and I-29 along the iowa side of the river, respectively.

Not to mention there was little existing modern infrastructure and even less incentive to build new ones to extensively and profitably connect the political and power centers of the North and South Dakota in a meaningful way, at least compared to the incentives to do so to their respective Easts.

Not to mention having two Northern states join as opposed to one was always an attractive selling point in Washington post-Lincoln. As well as helping to control 'The Indian Problem', as it was called at the time, by dividing and thus doubling their efforts to that end. (I'm half Oglala Lakota from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation...hence the name)

*per Google AI*
There are two Dakotas because the vast Dakota Territory was split into North and South Dakota in 1889 for political and practical reasons, primarily for increased representation in Congress (more Republican senators), resolving regional disputes (capital location, economic differences), and because the population centers were far apart, making one large state difficult to manage. President Benjamin Harrison signed the statehood proclamations simultaneously, intentionally shuffling the papers so it's unknown which was admitted first, though North Dakota is usually listed first alphabetically.

I have been watching the threads and people just losing it over players leaving. I see it this way:
1. those that are following CMC better hope they can beat out current PSU players as they will not be fan favorites.
2. those who have agents, family or friends who are telling them they can get more money somewhere else and are not now starters here may be in for a big shock
3. those who feel they did not get enough playing time here will have to go down a level to get playing time.
So anyone leaving unless told by the new staff their skills don't fit the new system good luck but the grass is NOT always greener somewhere else and you really weren't a true Cyclone.
For those staying you have shown us you care and here's to a great year in 2026 GO CYCLONES!!!

Don’t know about “a lot of players being forced out”. We’ll see.
Only thing we’ll know when the portal opens is what dozen or so Cyclone players are going to Ped St. and how many Wazzou guys are following CJR.
Then it will be interesting to see where the other 30 Cyclones end up, including back at Iowa State.

Why would Rodgers be running good Big 12 players off like this?

Depends on how you define "forced out". Like the person you quoted said, if a player expects something and the coaches say no thanks, is that forced out? We like to look at it that way for kids that weren't going to play and will transfer down but don't look at it the same way for a starter who can go get more money on the open market. Both types of player are in the same boat, they don't see eye to eye with the staff and are moving on. Are they both forced out if they would have stayed under their conditions but not what the new staff has laid out for them?
