After Campbell’s exit and poaching the Iowa State roster, Coach Jimmy Rogers gets the credit for rebuilding the Iowa State program going forward. Matt is destroying the foundation at Iowa State that he had built
Sort of like saying "Hey, don't blame me if you're hungry. I stocked the cupboards right before I left." because the cupboards were full of groceries the day before and taking a few sack full on the way out the door.

I was expecting to lose a lot of our high impact players but why are we beginning to lose backups who have really haven’t played? Are some of these players being asked to leave or is no one connecting with Jimmy and his new staff? Losing our LS is kind of surprising. Not sure that’s a sough after position in the portal.

I'm not saying we can compete with TTU when it comes to money (that is obvious), but I'll also tell you the people bankrolling these programs aren't the type to tell some random Youtuber how much money they make while sipping on a cocktail at a football game. I get your point, but these videos are just stupid.
Have you ever met someone from Texas? That is exactly what they would do. Every Texan I have ever met has a **** measuring contest on their brain 24/7.

Its literally their mantra, "everything is bigger in Texas."

Agree a you can probably count on Michigan taking a step back next year. So I’d say at home against USC and @UW are the two “big games”.

No axe to grind, I just don't think he's ready to be a head coach yet. Really just sick of people thinking he was some "miracle glue" that would have held things together. It's obvious the old leadership couldn't deal with the financial limits of our athletic department, so it was time to bring in all new coaches who aren't afraid of those limitations.
“Aren’t afraid of those limitations for now.” I fixed it for you. It’s really easy to say this is great going from 2 million to 13 million. But now you have to compete against Texas Tech, BYU, Kansas State not the likes of Colorado State and Oregon State. To say that Rogers won’t be frustrated if things don’t change with our NIL policies seems naive. Pollard needs to hope he has found a 3rd unicorn.

He played Ole Miss and James Madison. Virginia didn’t make the playoff. He beat a really solid Toledo team and got waxed by North Texas. He also had one of the worst losses of the season in losing to Oregon State. The three best performances of the year were all losses.
I get why some are drinking the kool-aid. There are things to like and there are plenty of things to question. We can’t afford to miss on this hire. Failing as we head into 2029-2031 would almost certainly guarantee a relegation. Likewise Rodgers have a 8-4 season in Year 2 or 3 and bolting would have the same result.
Pollard’s handling was less than ideal (announcing the new coach at Campbell’s team meeting). In my opinion JP’s legacy is now likely tied to keeping TJ and Rodgers at least somewhat sustaining the success that Campbell had. If he fails on either of those fronts then he needs to gracefully exit or be fired.
Semantics, but Virginia missed the CFP because of a fluke play vs Duke. Given what CJR had to cobble together at Wazzuu, the results were admirable.

I’m wondering if we have any players come back after they see their portal offers.. yeah we are high on all of our guys but I wouldn’t think many bigger schools would have alot interest after the big ish names entering.
I imagine they already know what their "stay" value is in dollars, if the new staff was trying to keep them. If they announce for the portal that immediately becomes their floor for any agent negotiation with anyone else. I don't imagine from ISU's side rev share offers can remain open once a transfer is announced. They have to replace the player from the portal and find value where they can.

There just aren’t that many 5 star kids to begin with. But he should be able to pull plenty of 4 stars. Theres already plenty of rumbling about the “3 star coaches and players” MC is bringing in from Iowa St. in fact, they get a little irritated when you call them Iowa State East (or Pedo St, for that matter)
Awesome! Good luck to Iowa State East. Of course, when you are as arrogant as Pedo State fans are then it is no wonder they look down there noses at having to field Iowa State East.

Some of you are wound too ******* tight. It’s Christmas Eve. Chill the **** out and have an egg nog.

This is the problem, no way will we ever be able to keep up with this. EVER.

Some on here absolutely love the NIL era, claiming it is the best era ever for ISU. It could just be because as it started everything was so disorganized and confusing that everyone was somewhat on a level playing field. Or that we just happened to get lucky, and had a good coaching staff to boot.

Now that places have figured it out, and gotten organized, we are going to get left in the dust. This is going to be worse than ever before, worse than Nebby and all there partial qualifiers, steroid system and other under the table deals. This is going to be those with the most cash, buy the best team, period, and all right there in the open.

TT could end up outspending all others at some point, if they havent already.

If anything this year with the coaching poaching, and the player buying, has shown that we are not even on the same planet as some of these schools, when it comes to money. And the gap is now not just inside the program, facilities and coaches salary, now it is everything including players.

The NIL and transfer portal with no real controls that work, are destroying college athletics and it appears it is only going to get worse, and accelerate.
I live in San Antonio area and work with construction & heavy equipment. I’ve got some oilfield customers, and the amount of money that oil makes down here is staggering.

I make a very good living as a one man band, but whenever I’ve had a great year it’s usually off crumbs from the oil industry.

I know the Sukups and they’re obviously successful. But the money down here is next level stupid.

I’ve seen $500,000 pools built in vacation homes these people don’t spend 3 weeks a year at. I’ve seen ranches and homes you can’t imagine.

You think your neighbor is rich because he spent $1m on a new combine. These people are spending that on cars they’ll never drive.

This is a customer’s RR SUV. The battery went dead because they never drive it. He’s got a jet & bell ranger…and lord knows how many cars.

He’s not even in the oil biz…

When A&M fired Fisher with his $70m buyout the night before the 12th man showed up with a $125m check for the AD…don’t worry about the money. Fire his ass!

I honestly don’t think A&M or UT know how much they spend on FB. I’d imagine A&M spent $300m since NIL between coaches and NIL.

Who in the hell here "loves the NIL era"? I don't think I've seen a single post in support of it whatsoever.

We haven't been on the same planet as the top dogs for a looooong time.
