No worries,

The Emperor does say Good twice, later in that scene.

But not before the quote I wrote.

Actually the better quote that applies is the first interaction, when Luke Skywalker is watching the battle: I’ll paraphrase for Iowa State context.

The Emperor says “Your fleet is lost. And your friends at Iowa State will not survive. There is no escape, my young Cyclone Fanatic. The Football Program will die. As will your hope.”

Luke looks down at his keyboard.

The Emperor says “ Gooooood. I can feel your anger. I am defenseless. Take your keyboard and strike me down with all of your Hatred. And your journey toward the Dark Side will be complete.”

This is heresy. There's only one Emperor and it's the Emperor of Mankind.

So the "haves and have-nots" is not just conference to conference...it is happening within our conference! Tech has the money to spend right now...they are spending it...and it will give them a chance to win every season! $$$ won't be all it takes to win the Big12 but it certainly helps to make it possible!

You say that like its a new phenomenon. OU and Texas always had the most money in the Big 12, but for all of the 2010s OU had the coaching that Texas lacked.

I get that...but those two left to join the "big boys"...we were left behind (a long with Cinci and Tech among many others)...so now we STILL have to worry about the P2 taking anyone of value for cash (although it wasn't a common occurence with us)...at this moment it seems as though Tech can pluck whoever they want from a conference foe...

We didn't line up across from too many former Cyclones in our league games (Tyrese Hunter comes to mind)...but certainly could happen often in this landscape!

Lol.......yeah right. Im sure they'll give him a free pass when he goes 8-4 because he's developed good fathers.

Maybe not a "free pass" but they were incredibly tolerant with Franklin, including back to back sub-.500 seasons a few years back, and he's a total jagoff.

The worst part of the many signees decommitting and following Campbell to PSU is that most of them are being used to fill out a late recruiting cycle and will get cut loose after next year, when they might have been able to develop over the longer term here together. But it is what it is I guess.

This will be interesting to watch how PSU develops over time. In his press conference, to summarize, Campbell essentially stated that he had to start NIL himself, do more with less, and expressed gratitude to Kraft for providing great financial resources. He emphasizes the importance of culture, focusing on rebuilding PSU's culture, developing young men, encouraging good grades, and players putting the team first. He also said looks at portal players that make sense for his system, but they must fit into the team and system.

PSU say they are fully committed to this plan, but once they see Campbell sticking to it, they might be surprised—as if to say, "Wait, you actually meant that?" They might expect him to pay to bring in a five-star running back or similar talent, and they don't fit his requirements. It seems like Campbell is similar to someone who is with a beautiful, willing woman but isn't quite sure how to handle it, so he ends up spending time with his old friends while she sits dumbfounded. Instead of immediately scouting talent from the portal, he is securing our recruits for a year or two until he gets his feet on the ground.

With that in mind, he clearly understands he must perform immediately, so he is going to do what he needs to do, which is why he is recruiting and bringing in as much of our ISU team as possible for the first year, then build the talent with the increased financial resources at the payers and our expense. He’s not the man of character that I thought.
AI, is that you?

Exactly. They'll figure out quickly that loyalty only runs one direction.

To be clear, I don't fault Campbell or any other coach for recruiting over players. If you're not doing this, you're not trying hard enough.
