***Official Mizzou Post Game Thread***

It seems this team still has not learned to really finish every game. They out-rebounded MU this time and shot well enough, but still gave up too many bunnies inside. Were outscored at the FT line by 10, but that is a pretty typical home court advantage. Thought they had this one.

They shot 15% better from the floor, we had 15 turnovers, Scotty played te worst 35 minutes I remember him playing, and we lost by 6. Disappointed in the loss, but we can beat anyone on a neutral court.

As for everyone ******** about the refs, please go look at the thread from that Mizzou guy earlier when everyone was making fun of how Mizzou would be complaiining about the refs after the loss. Kinda pathetic. They were more aggressive than us going to the basket and got 6 more fouls called on us than them. Not a shocker, step away from the edge.

Scotty kept taking it to the rack, and I think by about the 8th time he took it in, got hammered, and didn't get a call, he probably should've gotten the memo.. refs just weren't interested in calling it on our end.

That being said, Mizzou had way, WAY too many easy opportunities inside, and part of it was due to their guards being able to get there and actually finish.

Rest of the story for ISU:
Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers
BAD transition defense. REALLY bad.

+1 Can't turnover the ball like we did in the last 10 minutes on the road.

I hate when people say their is home cooking. But go watch how many times Ratliffe fought and sat down inside the paint without one call, watch Scottie drive being hacked several times and watch how Denmon got free on that late three pointer with Ratliffe backing up moving while screening Babb.
But our guards need to learn to stick and try to take the charge rather than always moving with their defender down the lane. Dixon killed us. I don't know why we don't try to clog the middle and make them shoot. But I'm not a basketball coach either. We will get this team in the Tourney.

I hate to say it, but i think MU goes on a deepnrun in the NCAA tourney.

I disagree, they are just not deep enough. The gas will run out of their tank. That being said, they're still damn good and probably a sweet 16 team

Refs definitely got emotional and hung up in the crowd for a 5 minute stretch and completely lost control. That happens on the road. Awful officiating but it what I expect.

This.

5 minutes about midway through the 2nd half...Moore takes a charge on Royce (which I thought was a block)...Christopherson gets hacked on the arm when driving to the basket and no call...and Moore travels when falling to the floor and sliding and it doesn't get called (although it seems like it's rarely called anymore in college which drives me nuts)...

Got MU back in the game...and then ISU turnovers did the rest...

I don't think we are better than Mizzou, but we could beat them on any given night. They do things well and have alot of seniors on that team. For those that are trying to figure out why Royce wasn't getting the ball during their run its because he was tired. He had no break till the very end on an inbound play. Royce is great, but 6'8 270lbs going full out= needing a breather every 11-12 mins at least. But we are still better with an exhausted Royce than no Royce at all.

Royce is a very good player, but I think he could help his game if he worked on moving without the ball on offense. He's too satisfied to just get the ball and then make a difficult play off the dribble. He rarely puts himself in a position to get an easy bucket.

The only issue I have is too many unforced turnover and not controlling the pace. Mizzura struggles in the half court. No turnovers/bad shots, no transition baskets.

They didn't struggle in the second half. They would spread the floor, then dribble at whoever they felt like they wanted to get a ghost foul called on.

For all you idiots out there that kept saying that Missouri was just too good for us.... NO THEY WEREN'T! We can beat Missouri, no doubt in my mind. We are good enough.

Yes, they are good, but so are we. Too many mistakes down the stretch, and some horrible calls. I hope we see them sometime in the Big 12 tourney, I think we'll get 'em.
...with a different officiating crew!

How many times did we get to the line 3? 2? Yeah the refs were great.

That's absolutely no proof of bad officiating. We've been the beneficiary of FT attempts the whole season. Have the officials been in our favor then?

No. All year long Missouri hasn't fouled much. This isn't unique, they make a point of not fouling. Sure, there were a lot of things that COULD have been called, but I didn't see much, if anything that SHOULD have been called. We just didn't force the issue enough on our end to draw the foul. When we did, I felt like we got the call.

At best it was an evenly played game, if you remove the officiating.

Who's this @sethbanks20 kid tweeting Royce? He's making an *** out of himself on Royce's twitter
