***Official March Madness Thread***

What I don't get is TN is completely going away from what made them so successful in the first half. They play fast, faster than most. When a team like that tries to slow it down, it rarely works well.
Cincinnati did the exact same thing.

That's what I can't figure out? Is this what got Barnes canned at Texas? They played FAST the entire 1st half, and have now tried to take the air out of the ball the entire 2nd half.

It’s true. They return everyone that matters. We may have a mass exodus besides graduation.
Wouldn’t be surprised. Their size will give us fits and we aren’t as good in Hilton anymore. Honestly Iowa is probably preseason top 15 next year.

I said something similar during the FL-NV game, but I don't understand why they slowed it down so much so early in the half.

Taking the air out of the ball and limiting possessions is fine if you have a lead with 3-4 min. to go. Not freaking 10-15, especially in the NCAA

A lot of it depends on Cook. He's inconsistent, but he's easily their best chance at someone taking over a game with his physicality.

It's amazing how teams never have that killer mentality when you're up over 20 to be able to say.... "let's get this up over 30, and then 40".... but instead ALWAYS relax and start playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

It happens to every team. Total psychological thing.

Agree, they started slowing tempo and playing slow on O with 18 min in 2nd half. But Iowa D and their trap press does that to teams
