If we could land Sexton it would be a game changer.

That would be pretty big. Too bad they can't get him for a basketball game though.

The key is to get Sexton on campus and the earlier the better (before he visits some bluebloods). Sexton getting to see the campus with nice weather and a full campus with optimistic fan base is the best way to sell ISU to him. I assume the staff will push for additional targets to visit that weekend too.
It is always possible he could make a second visit for basketball game if he waits to commit in the spring.

I get what you're saying, but then what is the point of wasting time recruiting McKinley Wright and Jericho Sims?

It sounds like you're making the case for abandoning recruiting that state.

My point is that it's never going to get easier than it is now for MN players.

It's the same as it's always been. Twin Cities kids like UofM, they always have, and always will.

My point isn't that we should give up, my point is that just because we've made a couple Sweet 16's and MN has been crap the past couple of seasons doesn't mean as much as people want to believe that it does on the recruiting trail.

I see a lot of, "So and so sucks and we're good how are they beating us for these recruits?" when that's not really how it works. Sure it's a feather in our cap but the recruiting game is much deeper than that. Change those Sweet 16's to Final Fours then the feather gets bigger and prettier.

People act like we've been good for 5 decades when it's really only been like 5 years.

I heard that he originally planned on it, but since is recruitment exploded, that he's probably going to wait a little longer to decide.

Well it's either sign between November 9, 2016 and November 16, 2016 or wait until at least April 12, 2017.

Wasn't serious on quitting recruiting MN, but once they get a halfway competent coach again they'll be good again. Too much talent in that state that wants to stay home, with no other competition in state.

We just need him to commit early to the good guys and then start recruiting some more 5 stars to play with him.

No reason to limit our expectations.

Seriously, Sexton's late rise in the rankings can really help us. We have believed in him from day one. Some of the other programs chasing him now, likely didn't show any interest in him until recently. That may not matter to him, but then again it might.

Goanar Mar from Minnesota just committed to George Mason. We were in good with him a while back but cooled on him. I don't think we were even recruiting him anymore

Is he expected to sign in November?

I heard that he originally planned on it, but since is recruitment exploded, that he's probably going to wait a little longer to decide.

Well it's either sign between November 9, 2016 and November 16, 2016 or wait until at least April 12, 2017.

Decide doesn't exactly mean sign. He can commit whenever he wants.

I asked when he was planning on signing. JC quoted my question and responded so I assumed he was referring to when Sexton planned on signing.

He's not B12 material.
