If we had won last week we would have been in the top 12 and would have had the 2nd worst sos behind Indiana. At 8-0 you think we would have been deserving?
Honestly, Army has truly played nobody, and if Notre Dame loses to them I would consider that an epic fail on their part akin to the NIU loss (and ND should fall out of the top 20), but I wouldn’t make a deal about our military getting a team in the playoff.
I haven’t listened the episode just the clip. I actually have been intentionally skipping 2 guys lately but this has to be just clickbait. If anyone listened please tell me someone anyone pushed back on him?
At this point, I still say a BYU team that loses the championship game would be top 10. I can’t imagine them leaving the Big 12 out completely if the best team has one loss.
Between the orgasms and moaning during the ad reads and beating the same jokes into the ground for 8 months it’s gotten pretty repetitive.
Anyways back to the rankings.
I don’t know if I commented, but I’ll admit that I thought they would look a lot different. It’s almost like having 12 made them lazy.
I'm not saying this is where we are headed...
But at the end of the BCS era when it was 6 auto bids to BCS bowls for the "BCS conferences" and a few at large, the Mountain West pretty regularly had one or two teams that were better than every single team in the Big East and ACC and those two leagues would get unranked or almost unranked teams in with their auto bid.
To me "top five conference champions" is great way to protect against nonsense like that. But again I don't regularly expect one, let alone TWO G5 conference champs to be better than the Big 12 or ACC champ.
It's one of the few things I've liked about how they've set all this up, that if any playoff is fed by conference champs it's just "top conference champs" rather than specific auto bids. In that same spirit it's why it's SUPER dumb to have a set number of spots for conferences, just play your way in without a saved seat.
