***Official Bye Week Thread****

We're at an inflection point for the season. Things could spiral quick. Here is how I rank remaining winnable games:
Okie St
Kansas
ASU (Assumes QB is back)
 BYU
TCU

6 or 7 wins wouldn't be great based on the start of the season. Anything 8 and above is a win for the season.

Basically we need momentum to help with recruiting and portal acquisitions for the 2026 season and take advantage of having Rocco one last season.
If we only struggle during away games at stadiums with fully artificial turf, then that means we'll win the next 4 games but will have a toss up at OSU. :jimlad:

It'll be an interesting few weeks. As I said last night, Campbell's post game quotes were a lot different than his usual ones when we lose. He's pissed. He is rarely pissed in public about his team.
He should be pissed. He should be pissed at the lack of execution on both sides of the ball and as usual...special teams. And from what I can tell it's on the players and coaches. Everyone shares a part with how things are looking from the stands/tv.

Of course he should. And if a person is even halfway intelligent, they’d realize that his public comments are often different than his private thoughts. The interesting part is that he went public with them this time.

Campus wide Kicker competition this bye week?

There has to be some former soccer players on campus somewhere in Ames with a halfway decent leg.
Obviously it’s clear Campbell isn’t confident in him and Cincinnati was bad but he did make the 38 yarder in Colorado. Curious what’s happening in practice to make us so gun shy, must be bad considering Campbells mentality over the years.

I appreciated that and the fact he looked in the mirror. Now the question is will we see change. I think the thing about this staff/team historically is even when they piss us off, they tend to redeem themselves soon after.

People smarter than me will disagree but I think the main offensive problem right now is a lack of a trusted kicker. It’s messing up the play calls and getting in players's heads.
