***Official 2026 World Cup Thread***

FIFA really just decided home and away uniforms without any other considerations, didn't they? Columbia should have been wearing their iconic home uniforms last night. Canada should be wearing red. All black versus all white, there's no telling which team is which at a glance.

Poch supposedly giving an update in a bit on Pulisic. Sure doesn’t seem like he’s trending in a positive direction for playing tomorrow.

Gut says we’re not gonna see him again in the group stage. Group D winner plays July 1st in knockout round, runner up plays July 3rd. So basically two more weeks to get him right.

In fairness, it was clearly not intentional. Nasty injury of course but not like the guy was trying to hurt it him there.
The dude meant to foul him.

There was intent there, he was late. You could hear the break on the broadcast. I've seen morons like that guy when I ref games. You can just see on their face and body language what they are going to do before it happens.
During a game I saw a guy was going to do something similar and I just yelled don't you do it and he stopped. It was like he was in a trance and I pulled him out of it

Korean goalie is pissed.
Bad mistake by the Koreans. They had a perfect first half. Kept possession and were frustrating Mexico. If they could have kept that up in the second half, then Mexico was going to start making unforced errors as the crowd would have become more impatient.

I don't see it that way when I watch the play, he came in from behind, but Kone was a bit off balance and ended up on his left leg with all his weight at the same time the challenge came in from behind. Challenge was behind and clumsy, sure, but the guy was trying to make a play and clearly felt terrible. I've seen my share of wreckless tackles, to me that wasn't one.
