***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

Watching Ryan Hall, and between eastern Iowa and Wisconsin they're having a hard time keeping up with the new warnings being issued.

We had a tornado warning 5 miles north and 5 miles south of us at the same time. Storm split around us and we got less than a tenth an inch of rain. Crazy

Golf ball sized hail here, but we were inbetween cells and it barely got windy at all. There was nearly 2 inches of rain in 45 minutes which will leave a mess. Fortunate. We had two storms like this in 8 days last summer that caused major building damage on the farm. It was definitely where my head was at tonight.

First round of storms seems to be going north of “chicagoland”. Ill/Wis border looks crazy on the radar. Supposed to be more popping up later.

A couple hours ago, forecast said 3” of rain, now says maybe 1”. Rain predictions on my weather app are always all over the place though

Just got back to the DSM area, driving back from a track meet in Ames. Couldn’t see a damn thing from Ankeny to Pleasant Hill. Just east of Pleasant Hill, no rain and the roads are bone dry. Wild.
