Winter storm warning has been issued for central Iowa with 5-8" of snow predicted between 6pm tonight and 6am tomorrow. Won't be shocked if school cancellations start being announced this afternoon/evening.

Looks like KCCI has adjusted their predicted snow total for central Iowa downward to 3-5".
We were predicted to get 1-3 in MPLS yesterday. Shoveled 9 this morning. Grand Marais up north got 34+ inches.
6” of this **** is going to blow the back out for shovelers. Although, it’s been so warm lately, I wonder how much will actually stick to pavement.

Metro is a battle ground tonight. I'm going 3-7" but fully expect big differences from south to north.
Overall band of 5-9" running from Audubon to Waterloo. Wouldn't be surprised for some running 10"+ either.
Wind kicks up to 35 closer to midnight. Visibility issue there. But sticky snow won't run across the ground too terribly much like it otherwise would.
