***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

Any impact on tomorrow's MBB game in Stillwater? Winter Storm Warning there from 6 am this morning into Sunday.
I wonder if we're going to see a lot of postponed games this weekend, especially in the SEC

Most of schools in North central Iowa have cancelled. No reason to drag the kids out into this mess, good decision by the schools.

It's really not even about the kids for the metro schools, it's the cost and effort to even get the busses running that drives the cancellations.

I don't know actually how cold it got. I always do plenty of preparation for extreme cold on the farm and it generally pays off. But nothing is working like it should today. It's noon and I am still thawing pipes. Cattle didn't eat fully yesterday, feed is frozen in their bunk. They all look pretty uncomfortable, despite fresh bedding and windbreak availability. It's going to be a long day.

@CoachHines3 's mom really can warm a pipe, maybe give her a call....

8 to 12 inches of snow in St. Louis area along with these temps. You sissies only dealing with temps can go pound sand.:p

Glad it hit -20° here in Twin Cities.

Has much more panache than a pedestrian sounding -19°.
Good chance at staying below 0 in the twin cities for about 72 consecutive hours as well.

My wife and son are leaving this afternoon for scout camp in NW Wisconsin to go dog sledding. Forecasted low there tonight is -29. Saturday night the scouts will have a choice to sleep in tents outdoors to earn the zero degree patch. Only -21 for that night

Oh - and I'll be nice and comfortable on the couch watching basketball all day. I've got it rough!!!

When I was driving in the driveway/garage after donating blood, I tried to quickly clear the windshield. Heard sound and watched the wipers move, no washer fluid. I'd just filled up the tank earlier this week with the Prestone de-icer brand, which shows it melts ice down to -34. Apparently, that means wind chill. In the garage I again topped off the fluid tank, and haven't tried the wipers again yet.

If your lines had regular fluid in them that has not been cleared you're going to have a bad time. Hopefully it thaws in your garage and you can pump a bit through before tomorrow.

No, I've been using the winter stuff, just a different brand, since mid-December with all the Saturday snowstorms. Windshield isn't bad. I'll try in the garage later today, tomorrow, etc.
