***Official 2026 NCAA Tournament Thread***

I'm not sure if they've had it for a lot of the season.

Still really god with exceptional young players but missing the edge from last year.
I thought returning guys like Sharp, Uzan and Tugler would be a bit of a fail safe, especially as Flemings came along.

We’ll see how the rest of the game goes, but a potent offensive team would be the thing to give them fits, especially when they aren’t shooting well.

I’ll give Iowa credit for their run in this tourney.. however they’ve played 3 teams in a row with horrible guards. Hoiberg shouldn’t even be playing P4 basketball honestly.

And who at Neb decided to suddenly switch to some match up zone and at times 1-3-1 when you were up like 8 should be fired.

All Stirtz did was penetrate..dish..open 3.

I kind of hope IL wins now bc at least they have good guards who can defend and shoot.
I don’t know if I’d go as far as saying Hoiberg shouldn’t be playing P4 basketball, but i sure don’t think he should be playing 37 minutes in a sweet 16 game.

Frankly, the glorifying of the guys that make plays without scoring has gone too far. I’m all for pointing out that stuff but watching a game called by Bilas is unbearable. Every time there’s a bucket we hear for 3 minutes about how great that screen that I’ve seen rec league guys set 10,000 times was.

You have to have good PG play typically. The Hoiberg thing is a fun story. But if he’s essentially your PG and leading your team in mins, you probably aren’t going to go very far. Good defender, but this isn’t 1998. Really hard to win with a guard that’s not very good offensively.

Houston looks like us in late February. No movement, just launching and turning it over. credit Illinois, they're letting Houston kick the ball to them and stand still on offense.
