***Official 2026 NCAA Tournament Thread***

Im going to give Tech until the first media timeout. Depending how things are going I may call it a day.

Dumb. That would have gone over like a wet fart if it didn’t work. And there was so much time. Iowa easily could have gotten an offensive rebound?

And that doesn’t jive at all with what the players did on the court. If you are fouling, you play back a little and let them come to you. You don’t chase.

Was the suckeye goon that made the last 3 pointer the same guy that threw the bunch ??
If so that asshat shouldn’t even have been in the game . That’s a Tech… and an ejection . Loser kid !

UConn is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2024 and the 21st time overall. They are 13-7 in the Sweet Sixteen. They defeated San Diego State in the 2024 Sweet Sixteen and have won their last 7 Sweet Sixteen games. UConn is 4-1 as a #2 seed in the Sweet Sixteen.

I’m not a Florida fan at all, and most definitely not a fan of Golden, but I don’t have to listen to their fans all day every day…. and ISU very rarely has to compete with Florida for recruits in anything either.

Iowa winning at anything is NOT good for ISU…. period!! I can’t believe how soft and nice ISU fans have gotten on Iowa? Is it just because we beat them in nearly everything now! Well…. that won’t last if we don’t keep them down!
Iowa State basketball is not competing with Iowa basketball for recruits. I also do not care what Iowa does.

Iowa State needs to take care of its own business and to hell with the rest of them. You allowing Iowa and their fans to occupy your head space just empowers the jackasses.

That's old school thinking.

Local media is dead. Hell, KGAN just announced they're not even going to have live newscasts anymore, everything is either going to be canned or national.

Everybody seeks out their own sports echo chamber so you don't have to be exposed to what you don't want to be like you did 20 years ago

Plus, in state recruiting is super rare for both programs and that combined with NIL makes potential recruits care even less about what happens in the past with individual programs.

Wow a voice of reason. Agreed, It’s super dead & in basketball you don’t even have to be a great old school recruiter. If you have an eye for talent & what fits your roster, a reputation as a good coach & the exposure that comes from being in a good conference, you can find plenty of kids who will come play basketball for you.

I remember back in the day Iowa fans used to try to tell each other it wasn’t good for Iowa, if Iowa State was good… It was stupid then and it’s even dumber now.
