In my experience, when there are fewer upsets in the first round, there are more in later rounds.

If Iowa wins, then all #9 seeds will advance to Round of 32. That has happened five times: 1989, 1994, 1999, 2001, 2019.

#10 won all over #7 in 1999 and #11 won all over #6 in 1989.

Historically, 9 seeds have won more than 8 seeds.

It’ll probably stay this way for a while. NIL has made it tough for those schools.

The only true 'mid' left (High Point) is believed to have a $3M+ roster (it's a cult like Grand Canyon).

I didn't think we ever get back to the point where the little guy has much success. Almost impossible to have a core stay together long enough to get to that point.

I'm sure network does massive analysis, but I wouldn't swapped the Tampa & San Diego time slots. It makes more sense to have Arizona-USU as latest tip, being Mountain time + a 1-v-9, and having Bama-TT 4v5 at "Sunday close to bed time" slot seems weird, ought to be more in the 8ET area.
