***Official 2026 NCAA Tournament Thread***

It's kind of funny watching teams that spend a **** ton of $$$ on their roster fail!!
I would like to see an inset camera shot during the game of a room with the mega donors who funded the bulk of a given roster or player just to watch their faces as their "investment" officially turns into a colossal dump.

Nobody ever has to play top shelf BYU. Except us.
Cough Cough ... I think we have something to do with that, unfortunetely.

I was in the minority - I thought our loss @ BYU was a bad loss. There was a lot of shrugging if off like "no shame in that loss!" or "welp, the #1 pick played great, can't do much about it!..."

Yeah there was; play better. We played soft and uninspired.

We were favored to win for a reason, we were coming off nearly 5 full days of rest after a big home win against Houston, all the momentum in the world, and an NCAA early reveal of a #1 seed. BYU already had their "dead cat bounce" (or whatever stupid ass reference CW kept using on the podcast, for like 3 weeks in a row) at Arizona earlier that week. BYU was complete dogsh*t (as a team) without Saunders, a very quickly dropped out of the rankings because this was quite obvious. Hell, had we literally just won THAT game and everything else was the same, we're probably a #1 seed.

Oh well. Hope that is a learning lesson for next year when we are again a potential 1 seed that late in the season... :D

Ultimately, BYU did not represent the Big 12 well today.

They didn't even have Saunders. It was the wrong time to play them. Like Kansas at Phog Allen. Both teams were desperate. (You'd think BYU would consider the NCAA Tournament a desperate time...)

Yeah just make shots guys!!

It was our defense that was really bad that night.

The offense wasn't great either outside of free throws, oddly.

Either way saying 'just play better' and pretending teams don't have bad nights or weeks is lazy.
