Alright nerds, ( I say this with the most respect) what’s the timing of storms tonight? Is it another early wake up call for story county? Just rain? I trust you weirdos here more than any other site.

4.75" officially at the airport (which is still a hell of a lot in a hour or so). Not sure where the 13" stuff is being reported from. Can't find anything local referencing that.

.2 inches in my gauge in Grimes. Must have been some pretty localized stuff. Got woke up by the tornado warning on the phone then sirens going off shortly after but we were never in danger as the worst was more north and east of here.

All the family members I heard back from said they had "roughly" 5 inches in their gauges.

Wouldn’t midnight to 4 am actually be Sunday?

3.4 on west side of Newton overnight. Another 1.9 Friday night. Lots of folks with wet basements and/or sump pumps running on overdrive.

It hasn't been THAT hot this year so far, but the consistent rains leading to insane humidity has made it pretty rough. Mosquitos/ticks are usually done by now, but they're still going strong on our property, and it sucks. I'm ready for fall.

Yeah iirc last year it was some days in the mid-high 90s but not for very long.

It hasn't been that high of temps but often you can feel the heat lamp-like pressure if the sun pops out. It's probably my least favorite type of conditions (obviously aside from damaging storms).

I've noticed mosquitos more the last two weeks than at any other time this spring/summer.
