To be fair, tornadic activity passed on both sides of Cedar Rapids Friday. The most severe stuff, of course, went through Coralville and Hills and on northeast to Bellevue, but there were tornadoes around Vinton, too, with those cells passing to the north. CR still got plenty of damaging wind, but mainly got lucky as far as tornado paths go - I don’t think it had much to do with being on the edge of the extreme risk area.
Which only means, naturally, will our luck hold out Tuesday night, or will it be our turn in the barrel?
