Do cells joining together mean they get even stronger or does that weaken them?

Should weaken it. But who tf knows in this environment.

This thing needs to lift up now or Iowa City is in serious trouble.

At 437 PM CDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was located over Frytown, or 11 miles southwest of Iowa City, moving northeast at 50 mph.
This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!
HAZARD...Damaging tornado.
SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado.
IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes, businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction is possible.
The tornado will be near... Cosgrove around 440 PM CDT. Oxford and F.W. Kent Park around 445 PM CDT.
Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include Coralville, Tiffin, University Heights, Oakdale, University Of Iowa, Iowa City, North Liberty, Coralville Lake Dam Complex, West Overlook and Newport.

If it's a small cell interfering, the bigger supercell will ingest it and reorganize and can intensify.

If it's a bigger line catching up to a supercell it will usually kill off the supercell.

Still a very volatile environment in eastern IA.

That area to the west of IC is no longer blank farmland. Lots of growth out that way every time I drive by on 80.

The North Liberty / Tiffin area has a TON of development going on all over.

Round 2 is east of Grinnell now. It’s over I’d say for anything west
