***Official 2023 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Do the Cubs simply stand pat or do they get some 3B and starting pitching help?
Not sure if there is a market for 3B other than Candelario; maybe McMahon for a higher price. But in general there aren’t many good 3Bs on losing teams outside of the Cardinals, and I don’t want Arenado

And Candelario got hurt last night so I think they're going to have to roll with Wisdom/Madrigal/Mastrobuoni. I think, unfortunately, when Madrigal gets activated this weekend that they're going to send Amaya out until September.

I'd like to see them add a pen arm and then roll with what they've got. I think there's enough there to win the division.

- Madrigal activated, Mastro sent down. Mastro has been on a tear lately but I love showing the commitment to Amaya - he made Smyly not look like complete dog **** last night and I’m not sure Yogi Berra could’ve pulled that off

- Bruce Levine reporting cubs will definitely be in on Shohei. Love it and hate it. I have concerns about our corner infield spots and I’m not confident our 2024 salary will let us get him and address both positions. But it’s Shohei ******* Ohtani.

Sign him. I don't give a **** who they have to get rid of to sign him. It's not like the there is a salary cap.

Hopefully they can squeeze in a game tonight. Radar doesn’t look promising

If Stroman and Bellinger opt out, you’ve got money next year to frontload Ohtani’s contract a bit. He becomes your ace/full-time DH (cleanup hitter) and proves the front office is serious about spending money again. He is 100% a possibility if they decline the option on Hendricks which I doubt the Cubs would do.

Still doesn’t sure up CF, 1B, or 3B but maybe PCA, Mervis, etc are ready in 2024???
